We were fans of the previous establishment so decided to check out the new one. The waitress was friendlier with "regulars" so we got limited but polite attention. The environment was bland and not inviting or in any way unique. Shabby spartan. The food...we got breakfast sandwiches for $11 each I could have made at home for under $3. Mine wasn't even cut in half. There was NOTHING that inspired me to want to return, sadly. If you need a quick unimaginative bite...
The waitress on the clock was friendly, and the place has a certain charm in it's quaintness... the aesthetic is hollow in comparison to the previous establishment. Food is unimpressive to say the least. I can get better quality food for the same price or lower almost anywhere else.
The cafe switched owners and the new ownership began about a week ago. I ordered the chilaquiles and they were absolutely delicious. I think the prices have gone up a bit with the new ownership and as much as I love a cheap diner meal, I have to admit I understand they’re probably just trying to be financially sustainable. I was still a little surprised when my bill was $19.75 for the chilaquiles and a coffee—with tip that’s $24!!—as I assume the ingredients aren’t organic...
