We went to hike Kaaterskill and stopped here twice. Not only was the service fast and the food yummy, but they were so hospitable. The first night they helped us get oriented to the village and gave us a run down of what was open/closed/available. The second day, after a couple issues (had some hiking gear stolen), they fed us on the house. It made our day a little bit better and that’s what life is all about. Highly recommend to anyone passing through. These are some good people all around.
Food very good. I recommend to food eaters, they got our order wrong and gave us FREE drinks and extra stuff. Besh food

This place has a wonderful atmosphere and the service was very friendly. The food is great diner food. I had the thanksgiving sandwich. The pizza was ok but, I’m mostly used to NYC style pizza, this was little thicker than that.

Real diner. Not a cafe masquerading as a diner for city folk.

The service is friendly and attentive and the portions are huge. I'd definitely eat here again the next time I'm in the Windham/upstate area. The food came out quickly.

The visit to Selena’s was mainly for lunch after a group tour, based on one member’s recommendation. Since there were around 20 people in the group, seats were reserved in a private room. The staff were very helpful, and among the halal options, the Tuna Sub sandwich seemed the safest choice. There were also some vegetarian items available.
Those who ordered omelets specifically requested that ham and bacon be excluded, and the person serving food reassured them that those ingredients would not be used.
Speaking of the food, the Tuna Sub with fries tasted great,(added Tomatoes & lettuce) and the tomato ketchup & cos law enhanced the flavor even more. Many people also enjoyed the seafood items, especially the fried calamari, which was crispy and delicious (though it’s best to double-check whether it’s fried in beer batter).
Overall, the restaurant was quite busy during lunchtime, and although it was a bit chaotic, conversations went smoothly. Since there was some leftover food, it was packed to take home. Most likely, when there’s a large group (15 or more people), a 20% gratuity is automatically added to the bill.along with the regular tax.

Honestly, I’m really disappointed with how this place is run. From the moment we walked in, the energy was off. My group and I came in friendly and polite — “Hi! Good morning! How are you?” — and got nothing back. No smile, no welcome, just a flat “How many people?”
We said “eight,” and the host looked instantly tired and unenthusiastic. It was still morning! Was it really that bad for a group of people to come in after church to enjoy breakfast together?
The diner looks nice in the front, but they seated us all the way in the back, where it felt like a plain storage room — four walls, a ceiling, lots of tables and chairs, and zero charm. The front had open space, but for some reason, we were placed in the back. At first, we brushed it off. But then we noticed something that didn’t sit right — the only other groups seated in the back were non-white, like us. That made the whole situation feel even worse.
The service didn’t improve. We waited around 45 minutes just to place our order. When the server came by, we said clearly, “Just water for now, we’re ready to order our food.” They didn’t even acknowledge us — just dropped off the waters and walked away.
When the food finally came, it was terrible. I ordered steak and eggs (medium) and got an overcooked steak and one scrambled egg. That was it.
Overall, it was a disappointing experience from start to finish. The atmosphere might be nice if you’re sitting up front — but if you’re not white, don’t expect the same treatment. Save yourself the frustration and order somewhere else.
