Pretty cool little place in the village of Hamilton and open when nothing else was. The bartender, Kaylee (sp?) was very friendly and made a good drink. She told me about local eateries to try and was genuinely friendly with interesting conversation.
Walking in you might not think it's a good place to get a smoked old fashioned best one I've ever had

When in there last night for a few cocktails. Stood there 10 minutes while the bartender was talking to a bunch of boys and ignored us. We went next door like a bunch of others who had the same experience
Super dope little bar in the little town of Hamilton. Bartender made me a super delicious drink called "Sour Strawberry Margarita." Had a great night ?

It's a loud college town bar with customary poor alcohol selection, overly loud music, and a borderline dive-bar atmosphere. Not my scene, but I keep getting dragged here anyway. No complaints about the bartenders; they've always been decent.

Great service, so long as you are polite. Prices are average for a bar, $10 minimum for a card. They don't sell food but they welcome you to bring food from the nearby restaurants. Really a great bar for the area, and the service is fantastic.

The bar z so good and the staff z so good ....
I want to start off by saying I love giving good reviews- it makes me so happy to know that I am supporting a business. Leaving bad reviews is not fun for anyone and I dislike doing it. I have worked in service before. Its tough, but the customer is always right. At the same token it’s not that hard to be kind. Service industry 101 (be nice to their face and say whatever you want once they leave). I would never go her again. My expectations and experience was horrid. It is honestly such a disappointment that the Colgate Inn was closed- they have much more class. I’m not sure if they’re just use to dealing with small town drunks or college kids. Quite honestly I have no idea. I would never ever go here again in my life. It’s not classy, they’re not classy, and quite honestly its cheap. If you want an after party this trashy uneducated place is not it. Bougie experience and service is not here. You get what you pay for. I seriously hope the owner calls me, they need a lot of work. FYI a real experience is going around checking on everyone asking if their okay, guess that’s why they have a one dollar sign. If you want class this isn’t it. They monopolize on college students not getting out and understanding what classy bars and staff are. Im just glad my husband (who dedicates his life to helping people) didn’t stay, he would be mortified. If you get out and travel in life this place is a joke.i do have to say though the nicest people to me was the oweners son and the girl who stamped my hand. Also who doesn’t carry High Noons?
I just wanted to take a minute to give a shout out to the Hour Glass Bartenders and bartenders all over. Working in a bar and dealing with people like the one I’m posting about is never easy. And because there are no comments on Google Reviews, below is a review on our Facebook page, our response, and the ensuing harassment. (You can also read the review left on Google)Faith Marie * doesn't recommendThe Hour Glass Inc.We were here for an after party for a wedding. I wanted to play music as you only get married once the bartender was super rude to me. Very unprofessional. When you do customer service you need to be kind. Very disappointed.Faith MarieI also want to add the bigger bartenderkept glaring at my dad for no reason. You're here to be in service not theother way around. Then we responded with:The Hour Glass Inc.Faith, I remember you this night. Iremember you coming into the barwithout your ID. I'm sorry that Icouldn't let you in without it. I triedto be as nice as possible while youargued that you were there for awedding but again, I can't let people in without a valid ID. Youtold me that you would have to gohome for it so I patiently waitedwith you and your father to getyour things and leave to go getyour ID. Then, when you got back,I gladly served you a White Clawand a Pepsi for your dad. Manybars do not have high noon. Wecan not get everything that isavailable out there as we don'thave unlimited space. As far as music goes, we have a jukebox. Music was playing so people had already put their own money in to hear the songs they wanted. You were more than welcome to play songs that you wanted to hear. Instead you tried to come behind the bar. If you ever do come back to the hour glass, you will have a much more pleasant experience if you bring your ID and behave appropriately in a bar.To which we received the following abuse from:Faith MarieThe Hour Glass Inc. you're incustomer service first of all. Let'sget that clear, second of all I'venever had a problem in the bar(have you been to college? I have amasters degree- I've been to a lotof bars. Perhaps you're theproblem). All my friends andparents tried to do with you wastell you I was over 21 lol... I'vetalked to other people who havenot had a great experience here.I'm sorry that you are so miserablewith your life, but that's not myproblem. You were straight uprude the whole entire time. I'msorry that you're white trash. I'dlove to see the video because Idefinitely don't agree... See moreThe rest that isn’t shown is more of the same. That my life sucks because I’m 40 and work in a bar etc…She also left a voicemail stating how it’s so easy to be nice and we should have been nicer and apparently let her drink in the bar without an ID and let her play music from her phone even though other people had played music on the jukebox. This is just one example of what it is like working in customer service. And it wasn’t that bad! We had a great night with the rest of the wedding party.
Great service!
Been going there for 42 years and whenever I get to Hamilton it’s my hangout. Bartenders are always nice and the ambiance is small town friendly. The college kids are respectful as long as you are respectful of them. Music choice from the jukebox is immense. Go there and hang out.
