An adorable little candy and ice cream store. The service is good even when busy. The chocolates are delicious, but my fam's fave is their milkshakes. Would definitely recommend trying them if you are in the neighborhood. Thank you for the wonderful service.

Maxwells not only has delicious truffles, chocolate, candy and ice cream, but you can pre-order cakes for special occasions! I pre-ordered a 60th Wedding Anniversary cake for 25 people. Jenn exceeded my expectations by making a vanilla 4 layer cake with butter cream frosting, fresh flowers on top and on the side, wrote our message top with lavender colored frosting and even included a delicate gold 60th cake topper!The cake was enjoyed by all and I received many compliments about how tasty it was and questions about where I ordered it. We will be ordering all our special occasion cakes from Jenn at Maxwells in the future. ?

Truffles tasted amazing and delicious according to the person I gifted a box of nine beautifully Spring themed decorated truffles to. This store is worth a visit if you’re in town. My giftee was my daughter, so her review was honest, not just being polite. She raved about them. Not sure what previous reviewers didn’t like about them.I believe box was $18, but turned out to be well worth it for taste and pretty presentation.

This is where I always go to get presents to bring home to the family after a visit to Colgate. Fantastic chocolates, ice cream, and cakes. The owner will custom make cakes and deliver them to campus if you want your student to feel special on a birthday or other occasion and you can't be there yourself! You can also order Easter baskets, chocolate dipped strawberries for Valentine's day, or other treats. My kiddo doesn't love cakes so the owner delivered a box full of gingerbread men for his birthday! (She also does a beautiful gingerbread replica of the Colgate Inn in December.) Don't be scared if there's a line -- it moves quickly.

Want to go to a place with delicious chocolate, but have to put up with some of the worst customer service you'll ever experience? Maxwell's is your place. I've frequented this chocolate shop many times in the past. Their chocolate is great. I found myself in the area not to long ago, even though I live 25 minutes away, I would not drive to this establishment for their chocolate. Especially after this last encounter. When I arrived, there were customers ahead of me. Two of the employees were working, employee A, was working on what looked to be an ice cream order the other, employee B brunette with large circle glasses was helping customers at the chocolate display. After employee B was finished helping the male customers at the chocolate display, she did not even acknowledge me, she went ahead grabbed something from behind the counter, went up to the stool at the ice cream bar and proceeded to be on her cell phone, texting? and chatting with other employee A who was making milkshakes. I then had to wait an additional 5 minutes. I was never greeted. Acknowledged. Eye contact. Smoke signal. Nothing. During the wait time. I'm not an expert in retail, but I have worked in customer service and if someone is standing there and hasn't been assisted, I'm going to see what they would like, so I can get them their goods and send them on their way. After standing there feeling invisible I should have left. I doubt they would have noticed. The chocolate I purchased was good. Sad to say, I won't be back. That awkward and unwelcoming experience made an everlasting impression among all the times I've been there.

Received a box of truffles this week and I am very disappointed. They are not the same as the ones I had 2 years ago. They are smaller and the chocolate is not as good, will not be buying them again. Very, very disappointed. Shame on whoever made the decision to make the change.

A sudden spot that reminds you of Vienna, Paris, Copenhaguen... Welcoming staff, the shop itself is pure eye candy, and a hard to decide what to pick due to the large choice of sweets.
