We were at this great winery and our server Susan was fantastic in explaining the types of wines and the history of the winery. There is a lot of history in this winery and recommend going and have some very tasty wines and champagne

Old school and style winery and champagne. Practically everything was tasty and we loved their rose brut. Started in the late 1800s and still going today. Tasting room is dog friendly, and stand at the bar. Tastings are $5/person, as of Oct 2024. Bought 4 bottles. Staff is very nice.

It was a little awkward pulling in since it's in more of an industrial area but follow the signs to the right and there it is. This was one of the best tasting. The staff were absolutely amazing and offered so much more that a regular tasting. This place is definitely worth a visit.

Had such a great experience! Somewhat difficult to find, as it’s not a traditional vineyard In appearance, but it was really great. If you light sweet wine, I highly recommend the Chocolate Lab- leave a little in your glass and ask for a splash of strawberry wine!

Awesome tasting/museum venue with an unbeatable-value tasting - 5 tastes for just $5! And a piece of their Vanilla Cream Sherry cake to boot! Friendly service as well, well worth a visit if you're in the Finger Lakes area.

Two adults visited here on a Thursday in mid-August for both a tour and a wine tasting and had a great time. We took the Great Western tour of their historic buildings in Hammondsport, NY, first for a little over an hour. Then we participated in a five sample wine tasting of Pleasant Valley wines. In addition, the Great Western Visitor Center had a small museum that was also interesting to see. Cost was $5 each for the tour and $5 each for the wine tasting. There is a nice wine store in the Visitor Center to purchase many of their extensive collection of wines.

Our favorite winery. We come to the Finger Lakes every year and this is a must stop for us. Great wines, priced and knowledgeable and kind staff. Take the drive, it's worth it.

We were 2 couples who did a great tasting. We had been to other vineyards for tastings and preferred the wine here. We liked everything we sampled. The staff were really pleasant. Like most tastings the pourer just follows the descriptions and is not trained about the grapes and vines. It is a tasting. Not an educational experience which is much higher priced and not offered at all vineyards. We really enjoyed the wines and left with a few bottles. Beautiful inside with many historical displays. Highly recommend!

We visited Pleasant Valley Wine Co. but were disappointed. The winery was off the beaten path and was showing it's age The tastings were $5 for 7 samples and the tall older gentleman who poured was quite friendly. Unfortunately, he couldn't answer our questions on how some of the wine was made. There was a huge display on the history of the winery that we declined to purchase, but the memorabilia looked interesting.

Pros: The concord blended wine was sweet and easy enough to sip. There was also a chocolate sherry that seemed OK as well, but I'm not sure if I could drink an entire glass of it. Also, full bottles were as cheap as $10 each.

Cons: We tried the Masala, Madeira, regular and Cream Sherry, Ruby and Tawny Ports. Not a single one was palatable. The finish was raw and harsh. It definitely needed more finesse. After one sip, I did the unthinkable: I dumped the rest of the glass.

I highly suggest they tour and taste some of the other Finger Lakes wineries to see what modern, delicious wines are being made in the area.

Not so pleasant after all. We arrived with our large family group and were treated rudely by an older gentleman that works there. My 7 year old nephew and husband (a music professor) were respectfully playing a tune on the piano and he asked them not to bang on the keys. They were literally playing a song and there were no signs or barriers near or on the piano preventing guests from touching. We opted not to spend any money there and left. On a rainy, slow day with lots of competitors nearby it is probably not a good idea to treat your guests rudely.

When we first arrived we were confused by the place. It looks more like an old museum than a winery. It’s also hard to find on Google maps because it had a different name and also you had to follow the visitors center signs.

I also had to wait for about 15 minutes to get a tasting. They weren’t what I would think is busy but I believe the 2 working the whole place had to cover the gift shop and tasting room area so that was a lot.

I would have given less stars, but the staff made up for things. And so did the champagne. Matthew was hilarious and made sure we were happy once he was able to get to us! He deserves a raise, and some help!!
