We sat in the basement by the bar, chill atmosphere, waitress was very friendly and funny. Good Asian street food!
Ate here a couple of months ago. Everything tasted like it was microwaved. The chicken wings had that slimy texture that only comes from microwave nuked wings. Our bao buns came under cooked and doughy with dry meat on it that was screaming hot like from a microwave hot. Our pork belly fries came with an "Asian Sauce" that could only be described as bbq sauce, microwaved meat, and fries that tastes like they'd been sitting under a heat lamp. Everything came out within less then 5 mins of ordering it; which only enforces our thoughts on the microwave and heat lamps. My drink tasted of only wells vodka, but cost $13. Save yourself the money this place is using reviews from an old Italian place to make them look like they are a quality restaurant.
Fantastic! Had a large group of 8 of us, Ashley was fantastic bartender and server. Food was amazing as always. We get take out often, but this first time dining in was great. Love this place!!!
Such a great place for Hammondsport! We are lacking in traditional Asian food in our area. We really enjoyed our time. The service was wonderful and the food was delicious. We hope to be back soon
Such a chill atmosphere, and the food is so flavorful and zesty! I also love that they serve Seitan, which is one of my favorite protein choices. The Seitan Bahn Mi with thick-cut waffle fries is delish! ?
Bought $61 worth of food last night, and it was terrible. Noodles tasted like what someone with no taste would describe the flavor of Mayo and the vaguest taste of peanut butter would taste like. Ended up going to McDonald’s after. Save yourself the money and go elsewhere.
Mizumi is a completely different concept than the Union Block. Instead of a sit-down Italian restaurant, it is now a "street-food" style Asian fusion restaurant. Food is served in disposable containers and with disposable utensils to give you that feeling of getting food from an Asian food stand on the street. I would actually recommend getting takeout over dining in because dining in literally adds nothing to the experience unless you're also there to order drinks. A waitress doesn't take your order: you scan a qr code and order with your phone, or walk over to a kiosk (though this system definitely has technical issues). The food itself is pretty good. I ordered the seitan (vegetarian) wings and they were made really well. I also really liked that the menu offers many vegetarian and vegan friendly options. However... When my seitan bao buns arrived, they came with pork instead of seitan! I did eat them (and they were tasty!), as I'm not a strict vegetarian anymore, but I imagine that would be a shock if a vegan customer received them.Overall: give it a try. The food is good. But maybe get takeout, and double check your order if you're vegan.
I am a little bit late on the review - I do believe I was there the same week of the grand opening. Got a chance to speak with the owner, really cool guy - gave me a bit of background as how to how and why Mizumi came to be. Expect a non-traditional dining experience: Imagine the restaurant as a giant Asian street cart. Quickly prepared but delicious foods BUT far from fastfood. Their baos (shape like tacos), wings and noodles were delicious. Unfortunately I don't live in the area but when I do visit again I will definitely be come back!
Tons of vegan and vegetarian options, very quick service, everything was perfectly seasoned and served hot and fresh. I ordered the bok choy and the seitan bao buns. Best meal we had our entire trip to Hammondsport.
The 1 star reviewer seems to have an axe to grind. This was perhaps one of the best meals I have had in a very long time, quite unexpected. Had the vege dumplings and tofu boa buns, tasty, just the right amount of spice, the bun was perfect texture. Was sad when my plate was empty and even sadder to discover they were not open the next day (Sunday).

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Mizumi! The food was superb and on par with the best gourmet Asian restaurants. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the atmosphere was super cozy, and the chef came to our table to make sure we were pleased with our meal! We were pleasantly surprised!
Most interesting food very delicious and the young waitress was VERY polite and helpful.. took special requests no problem and is also very pretty.
Unsure as to the quality of the restaurant currently. The old Union Block and images may or may not be the current look and feel of the interior. Reviews speaking of how good the pizza is, etc., is mostly not relevant. My five star rating may change at a future date and is in regards to the menu items as I see them. I did not want to give an unfair rating that would harm the new theme. Consider just an FYI.
Absolutely disgusting, a total waste of money. Left 4 bites in to go up the street for better food. The meat they upcharge you 4-6 dollars is totally not worth it, it's all frozen precooked meat that's most likely microwaved and added to whatever you ordered. Overpriced and just plain unappetizing.
Village Block Italian is not around anymore but we've got this Asian Street Food shop. I got Taco and some Pork spring rolls and the food was absolutely fantastic! Brand new place — highly recommended
