Best Cuban sandwich I’ve had in Westchester!

Gabriel Evan Music

Love Cuban food! So happy this is down the street from me. Had the half sandwich and soup special. Chicken soup was hearty with chunks of chicken, potatoes carrots and noodles. Got the mojo pork and grilled onion sandwich, so so good especially with that green sauce! Will be coming back to try the rest of the menu 100%. Small area to eat there, otherwise a great take out option

This place is truly special! If you’re Cuban, you’ll feel like you’ve been transported straight back to your abuelita Mima’s kitchen. We happily drive an hour just to enjoy these authentic dishes. The croquetas are perfection, and the vaca frita fries are my ultimate savory guilty pleasure. JJ’s pan con bistec hits the spot every time with its perfectly seasoned, thinly sliced steak. The empanadas and pastelitos? Easily the best I’ve ever had. Beyond the food, the service is just as memorable—warm, welcoming, and filled with genuine care. You can taste and feel the love Annarella pours into every dish and every guest’s experience. ¡Dale!

We decided to give Matanzas Cuban Cafe a try and we scored BIG! The establishment is small but big on authenticity, taste and flavor! The portions are perfect and the food travelled well, considering that we with it. Everything was still warm and delicious! The service was prompt and courteous, and the prices were just right. It’s official-Matanzas is our Cuban restaurant! Please give them a try and spread the word. We must do everything to keep high quality restaurants within our reach.

A hidden gem for Cuban delights! The Cuban is authentic with delicious hand pulled roast pork. The vegetarian sandwich was made with plantains, bean and the most amazing caramelized onions. Both pressed to perfection. Annarella was sweet and offered suggestions and a taste of a mango shake. Local, women owned, Cuban.
Small dine in space was very adequate where you can watch the action. Parking across the street. Must try even if you are a vegetarian. Beans are meatless. Support local businesses!

Clean, cozy storefront with a small seating area that is well utilized. The owner is an absolute doll who is hands on and will never miss greeting you warmly regardless of how busy it may be. Their bebidas are delicious, especially the soursop. I recently tried their iced coffee (black, with nothing in it) and am hooked. Great fare. Fast, excellent service, with reasonable pricing. So glad to have this gem in the neighborhood!!

Amazing food, and very friendly people.
Anything they have will taste great, their Friday's rabo sandwich are probably one of the best ones I ever had, full of flavor, and comes with a unbelievable sauce on the side.

My pictures don’t do any justice, because I am always ready to I eat their food!! I drove past here once and became intrigued. I decided to visit and I was not disappointed. As a fellow Caribbean girl, I love to support other Caribbean businesses. The place is very clean and inviting. I also love the decorations, and even was introduced to Albisa candle business, whose candles the owner of Matanzas has displayed by the cashier. She selflessly promotes other businesses. I have tried almost every sandwich and they are all AMAZING. Their cubano sandwich is the best I have ever had. The coffee is also sooo good. This was my introduction to Cuban food, and I am happy to have tried it here. The portions are generous, every sandwich being bigger than my head. The pastelitos as fresh and tasty. The owner is very involved and she is SO nice. Not only is the food great, but the customer service is exceptional. She opened this business to honor her and her late father’s dreams, and she is doing an amazing job. All the great energy, hard work, care and love that Annarella puts into this place and recipes is evident and is felt by anyone that walks into this cafe. Matanzas Cuban Café is an ode to the owner’s late father and a love letter to Cuba and its resilient people. You are making your father proud!

Never been inside always ordered from Ubereats … and the Cuban sandwich always hits. Bread is soft, the meat (pause) is tender and buttery … the mustard is subtle the cheeese is sweet and savory … If you’re looking for a traditional Cubano.. look no further ! 💯
