One of the best restaurants in Westchester!Fantastic cocktails, apps, mains and dessert. Better food then the Inn at Pound Ridge. Unico is a perfect casual restaurant with first class fine dining food.
Unico was a unique experience. Everything Unico, the concept, the design, the menu and the cooking itself has the thoughts and follow through of Chef/ Owner Brian Sernatinger on or in it. Up until last night I had no idea what that meant.First of all don't let the store front, luncheonette exterior fool you...there's incredibly delicious food in there. The staff is hard working, friendly and caring. The drinks were spot on. The duck wings, ribs and Cochhinita PIBIL ( a really special pork dish) we're all notable. Oh yeah, remember to save room for dessert.
We came here the day after Valentine's Day so it was quiet. We loved the ambience, but more importantly the food was fantastic. I could eat 12 of those octopus empanadas. My wild boar ragu was spot on, and my wife's steak frites was perfectly cooked. Drinks were very good also. We look forward to dining at this neighborhood gem again very soon!
I have driven past Unico a million times but I never took the time to go in or look it up since the blinds are always drawn. On a Friday night I decided that my wife and I were going to go and try Unico out since we needed a change from the restaurants on Hartsdale Ave. We walk in and were asked if we had a reservation (we didn't) but were offered a spot at the bar. The place was fully booked and there was literally four people running dinner service. The host also acted as the server and bartender and she did an amazing job and was extremely efficient. My wife tried their pineapple margarita and called it the best margarita she had ever had and proclaimed she could drink ten of them. We started with the muscles and octopus empanadas. The muscles were huge, plump, and had great flavor but no bread or starch was given. The octopus empanadas were unique and tasty but could have used a sauce. For our mains I got the cod ravioli and they were perfectly cooked and seasoned perfectly. My wife got the steak frites with peppercorn sauce and she loved it. For dessert we got the deconstructed almond crumble cheesecake and it was one of the best cheesecakes, no the best desserts we had ever had. We loved the place so much we went back the other night with my parents, but this time we had a reservation. We had the muscles again but this time were given plenty of bread. We also got the garlic shrimp and which defiantly had a garlic punch to them but the portion size was a bit small. For our mains we got the duck, mahi mahi, ribs, and steak frites. Everyone loved their dishes and ate everything. For dessert we got the cheesecake again and we also tried the bread pudding. The pudding was also delicious and unique with its use of IPA beer and caramel sauce. Unico has great service, great food, and has a unique menu that uses fresh ingredients. My only qualm is that the pricing is fair but seems odd for something off Central Ave. Don't let the closed blinds scare you away, give Unico a try
Fantastic food, great drinks, fast and respectful service. The menu is very unique. Pleasant chill vibes too. Will def go again.
The food was lackluster. Fried zucchini had little to no zucchini in it. Shrimp tasted like it had been previously frozen, was rubbery and overcooked, and had a plastic aftertaste that wouldn’t leave my mouth after many hours. “Fresh” bread tasted stale and was very hard and cold. Food itself was lukewarm. Had the miso salad and could only taste the dressing. Below average food, was expecting exceptional. Severely disappointed. Restaurant itself was freezing inside despite the many portable space heaters running.
Chef Brian and wife Daya make this restaurant an absolute delight!. We truly love this restaurant and love Brian's innovative uniquely created dishes.Looking forward to returning soon.
This place cannot be described in words. You just have to eat here to experience what they offer: the finest culinary delights with an Greek/Italian flair. My server Daya was so helpful and friendly that I look forward to coming back again (and again)!
This place is amazing. Food is delicious. Owner and chef is a terrific guy. Highly recommended!
The ultimate date night, night out, guilty pleasure, hidden gem.. and more. Each dish was delicious. I could eat the bone marrow appetizer every day for the rest of my life

Excellent food and service. The pasta and duck was fantastic!!!
We had a family gathering in Hartsdale, and our local cousins choose unico at they could not have done better! Everything on the menu looked outstanding, and we wound up ordering 5 appetisers to share each one even better than the last! The entrees were all complex and perfectly prepared, all flavours working together and yet no aspect of any dish was superfluous. Even the deserts were all complex but perfectly executed and the service was just as outstanding! Whenever we’re next in town we will absolutely be returning!
Best food in the area. Truly great dishes, tasty, innovative and fresh
This place is 10/10. I honestly would say this is the best restaurant in the hartsdale area. The owners are incredibly friendly and accommodating to gluten and dairy allergies, every dish is out of this world, and the ambiance is perfect for a romantic evening or group dinner. I couldn’t recommend this place more.
Mahi was great. Fun date spot. Cookies are ridiculous ?
