I absolutely love this place.I have been looking for a great indian food place in long island and this is it.The food is delicious. It's affordable and it's consistent. The owner is adorable, and she's so kind and accommodating. I usually get the samosas, which are the absolute best and always fresh.

The food quality is terrible. It used to be good. They changed chief and kitchen. Dining in this place is waste if your time and money.

I have been going here for years. Ever since I was in high school. Not only is the food amazing, the owner who is a sweet lady always has a table ready and attentive to everybody. She remembers my order and always greets me with a smile! The atmosphere in Clay Oven is always amazing. The food is always fresh and the sauce is amazing. My favorite Indian food place! Must go especially because there are not many in Suffolk! It always feels like grandmas house!

We went in for the dinner cuz this was close to us. The so called owner who is a short lady was taking orders. We placed an order for 3 lamb chops and panner makni. We were told there will not be enough chops for 3 how ever she went in the back amd discussed with the cook and told us she does have them. After the food was ready the food come to the table. Wher we looked at the chops. They had cut 1 chop and made 3 out of it. Only in one order I saw a one full chop and the rest was cut. So I asked the lady politely why is this served inappropriate way and we will refuse to accpect this as 3 chops. We have eaten before and the people know how chops look like. Now she turns variously vacious and piked up my plate and ask other to give her their plates. She said order is canceled no remorse or sorry she is defrauding customers. We are in shock and we get up and just live the resturant. I will please recommend all to refrain going to this place. If she can do this to us and this food is our traditional food and she still try to scam us. I am thinking what will be happening with innocent ppl who does not know much about south Asian food.

*Update 8/29- After telling me not to use the website online ordering, I was told a credit was issued and was charged 2x based on American Express. Once direct by Restaurant and the other by Amex onsite. Everything about this restaurant gives me concern for customers. I do not recommend this place at all.
Anyone who may follows and or know me, will tell you I try to spin positives. Especially with my restaurant reviews because I know how hard it is to satisfy all customers. However Clay Oven really gave me nothing to work from. To start, I tried placing order online for takeout and thought I was successful but while picking up food the cashier cancelled my transaction and rang it up again which technically placed two transactions on my credit card. He told me not to order online and call next time. Strange to have website capable of ordering and tell customer to not use.
Now the food and final to my negative review. My order was: Chicken Tikki Marsala, Vegetable fried rice and Naan. The Chicken was a bit rubbery with an un-inspiring sauce. Fortunately the white rice and Naan were decent. The Veg. Fried Rice was horrible.. The vegetables in rice all seemed like they came from a bag of frozen supermarket bit that were freezer burned. Whats worse is I bit into an olive or something that had a pit which nearly busted a tooth.
Sadly, I will not give this place a second shot and will not recommend. Bad Bad Bad !

The food is amazing. But the price is pretty steep. Portion sizes are very big. Maybe with a smaller portion size with lower price I would have rated 5 star.
The atmosphere is okayish. Good for take-out. Not so good for dine-in.

Incredibly delicious Indian food. Probably the best on the island
The best chicken Tikka masala I've had on the island. The service was phenomenal and they even offer only white meat chicken options. I highly recommend this place for solid Indian food every time.
