Absolutely 5 stars- Mezza Luna (formerly the old Mario’s) is incredible. From the decor to the service to the food, it has fast become a favorite of ours. Everyone makes you feel at home and they even do private events. Totally delicious food- run, don’t walk.

Mezza Luna is a new establishment on Motor Parkway, branding itself as “fine Italian dining” with prices that certainly match that product description.The interior decor was elegant and the staff was attentive and friendly. However, there was one weakness which management must resolve.At any fine Italian restaurant, hot bread is essential, setting the tone for the rest of the meal. Unfortunately, my bread was served cold and stale. It was difficult to chew and inedible. Without exaggeration, it was the worst bread I have ever been served at any restaurant. This must be corrected immediately.The rest of the meal was OK, though nothing remotely akin to “fine dining.” Fine Italian cuisine starts with hot bread. If Mezza Luna aims to deliver a fine dining experience, then its kitchen must step up its game.I will be back again. When I do, I hope the bread comes out hot.

I just left this restaurant on Saturday December 10, 2022 and I rarely write reviews about a restaurant, but people beware. We went to this restaurant to celebrate my sisters birthday. The restaurant is really nice but people with ALLERGIES beware!!! The service was terrible. I made the waiter aware of my nut and shellfish allergy and they brought me an antipasta that had nuts. I am glad I saw the pistachio before eating more. I proceeded to tell the waitress and she told me “and what do you want me to do.” Let me think?!?!?! Let someone know! So I waited to make sure I didn’t need to inject my epi-pen and had already ordered our food I said okay we ordered our food there is no way they can mess up again well that is not true! Two people ordered the beef Wellington and one was medium well and the other medium. We were given the wrong beef Wellington! I will say it was delicious but one of us of course did not enjoy their food! We decided to enjoy ourselves either way. We ordered another glass of wine and of course the waiter brought us the wrong glass of wine! The manager tried to make it right but at the end of the night we ask for a check and it took literally 45 minutes because the waiters were so embarrassed they couldn’t approach our table. Overall horrible horrible experience!

We held our holiday party at Mezza Luna, and had a great time. Appetizers, drinks and food were amazing, and service was exceptional. Highly recommended.

Delicious food top notch service! Atmosphere is very nice recently renovated looks great! We were there for lunch it was a little bright but I guess that's lunch time LOL

Business is closed for good. Last day was June 18. Mario was the last of the best. They served things that few restaurants offer. Examples: sautéed calves liver, crêpes Suzette, and lobster crêpes. Now I have to go to The City for those.

I went to Mario’s about a year ago and my fiend and I were the only ones eating lunch there under the tents. The food was absolutely delicious and we had wine salads and entrees. I took my family recently and they loved it. It was about two hours due to traffic but well worth it. My daughter got pesto pasta and I got the fettuccine with vegetables with spicy abbreatta sauce. I also got a margarita with tons of tequila ha ha my wife got vegetarian manacatti and we also got two appetizers and desert.

First date with a wonderful lady. Mario and his son Pete made us feel like we were visiting friends for dinner. The food was excellent and the service impeccable. Perfect ambience. Could not ask for a better evening.

I've been going here for years, I think it is the best Italian. Food on long island for sure. The staff is perfect and the service is exceptional.
My chicken cutlet parmesan was like a rock but the other five people I was with their dinner was great

Excellent service excellent food. The staff is friendly and courteous and attentive. Definitely your old school Italian high-end restaurant. I had a delicious bone-in ribeye and everybody else at our table very much enjoyed their food. The waiter was very helpful in picking out very good tasting wine. Would love to go back again.

This was my 1st time to Mario's everything I had was excellent. I had the beef barley soup , clams casino and and a veal dish very very happy. Prices were very reasonable, considering today's day and age. Good service I recommend strongly.
