Sakura is a hidden gem and hands down my favorite sushi spot in the Hauppauge/Smithtown area. It’s a small, family owned restaurant, and Maggie and her husband go above and beyond to make every guest feel welcome. They’re always so kind and attentive, which adds a personal touch you don’t often find.
The food here is incredible. Every dish is packed with flavor and always fresh. My absolute favorite is the shumai soup it’s my go to comfort food. Their torched rolls are consistently amazing, and when I’m looking for something on the lighter side, the diet roll is a great low-carb option.
Also worth mentioning: the fried rice is generous and perfect for sharing, and the crab salad is a must-try so refreshing and flavorful. I come here for the quality of the food. If you’re in the area and love sushi, Sakura is a must-try.

I have no idea how this place isn’t packed every night. I took my son for sushi after work and everything about it was amazing. The food was so good and the waitress is so friendly and welcoming. We will be coming back every chance we get! 🤩👍🏻

This place is a hidden gem. I was on the hunt for a new sushi spot and this will be my new go to. Everything was super fresh and the rolls were the perfect size and didnt fall apart. The staff is friendly and the vibe is nice inside and clean. They have two pages of signature rolls. We got the bridge roll, crazy salmon roll and orange sunset roll. So good

I have been coming here for sushi for over 15 years and have gotten to know all three owners. Maggie, the current owner, has been there for over 4 years and has made the place better than ever. The atmosphere has improved with great background music, dimmer lights, and a pretty ambiance, and she has updated and changed the menu.
I am particular about my sushi and prefer a place that is busy enough to ensure fresh fish. Maggie's restaurant is always busy, and for good reason—the food is delicious! If you want something made to order, they'll happily accommodate you.
Maggie is one of the sweetest people I know. I often see guests greeting her by name and, like my son and I, giving her a big hug before saying goodbye.
I highly recommend trying this place. Everything on the menu is delicious, but my favorites are the tuna tacos (which can also be ordered with salmon) and any roll with jalapeño.
