Nice place, unassuming exterior. Sushi was super fresh, rice on my rolls was sticky (as it should be) and soft. Fish tasted fresh and was thinly cut. Prices were average. Service was polite, nothing special. Spicy salmon was actually spicy. Would come back, recommended.

Sakura is a hidden gem and hands down my favorite sushi spot in the Hauppauge/Smithtown area. It’s a small, family owned restaurant, and Maggie and her husband go above and beyond to make every guest feel welcome. They’re always so kind and attentive, which adds a personal touch you don’t often find.
The food here is incredible. Every dish is packed with flavor and always fresh. My absolute favorite is the shumai soup it’s my go to comfort food. Their torched rolls are consistently amazing, and when I’m looking for something on the lighter side, the diet roll is a great low-carb option.
Also worth mentioning: the fried rice is generous and perfect for sharing, and the crab salad is a must-try so refreshing and flavorful. I come here for the quality of the food. If you’re in the area and love sushi, Sakura is a must-try.

Little rolls not plump at all. Maybe I'm spoiled cause I live out east on long island and get to have those plump rolls from Mikado in Center
