Staff is friendly, but the food is well below par. I didn't think you could mess up a fried sole sandwich. I think the tarter sauce was as old as me. The hollindase sauce was like jelly. I'm not sure the coffee was actually coffee. I can honestly say that I will never return.

Disappointed, had not been to this diner in a while. Very empty and just OK, not the high energy place I remembered.

Nasty food and service, Never go again
A large group of us came in for a late lunch. We were accommodated quickly. Service was prompt and the food was as ordered. I had a western style hamburger which was well cooked and delicious. Drinks were kept filled. When it was time to go, we did not have to wait long. The atmosphere was pleasant, as expected for a diner. Staff was super friendly and inviting. I would 100% return and recommend to others.

Great nostalgic atmosphere; good food and very attentive, friendly service.
Responding to a prior post: the restroom was spotless.

This is my favorite diner in the area (and I’ve tried several!). Old school Greek diner with good variety, good food, reliable service, and 60s diner ambience without seeming shabby. Hours are sometimes a little unreliable, though.

On Saturday 27 July 2025, I and 2 friends got together for breakfast at the Executive Diner in Hawthorne, NY. One of us travelled 30 miles south and two of us riding together drove 30 miles north to spend an hour and a half for breakfast together.
The diner had plenty of parking, even for a large pick up towing a trailer. The diner was nicely appointed; there were booths, tables and a long counter seating.
I had a western egg omelette with home fries, toast and very good hot coffee. One friend ordered the same as me the other ordered a Gyro with fries a coffee and he ordered a western omelette to go to take home.
The service was excellent our coffee cups were topped off, all the food served hot and the ingredients you could taste were fresh and of high quality.
The Executive Diner service and food was well worth the drive.
Parking: Parking is plentiful and can even accommodate large pickup trucks ups with trailers, may even an 18 wheeler.
Wheelchair accessibility: There was ramp to allow wheel chair access

Maybe they were short staffed…. Stopped in for breakfast and while the food was good, (I would recommend trying it), everything else fell short. I was surprised to hear they had recently reopened. It felt dated. We had to ask for utensils and wait quite a while to get them (There were no place settings on neighboring tables or I would simply have gotten it myself). They didn’t check on coffee refill. Finally, we asked for 1 refill and got billed for 3. Be aware… They advertise free coffee with breakfast but charge 2.99 for refills. I think they should get rid of the gimmick and just charge for coffee because it would be better than upsetting a customer.

Very comfortable and relaxed setting. Good food and service.
We went for breakfast and although it was 10:00 am it was pretty empty. The food was expensive, it cost $17 for a Greek Omelette with egg whites and an English Muffin and the omelette wasn’t even good. The tomatoes were hard and there was barely any feta cheese. I was never told there was an extra charge for the English Muffin and the writing on the menu for the cost of egg whites was very small. Essentially they charged an extra $4 for those two things. The home fries weren’t good either and the portion was very small. They didn’t even have real butter on the muffin. My husband got the Challah Bread French Toast and we have never seen such small challah bread anywhere.
He got two small slices for $10.95 and it came with jam that the waiter took it back when he asked for syrup. The waiter never told me about the extra fees on my order which he should have since I would have ordered toast which came with it because it was already ridiculously expensive. Our bill was $37 for less than substantive food and we couldn’t even say we enjoyed it. I realize costs are up but this was totally not worth the money we paid. We should have a clue when we saw how empty it was. They never reprinted their menu they just stick tape over the prices so they can change them frequently. It used to be a great place to get a meal, however, it has declined significantly.

We were there for about an hour before they brought our food. We asked for water several times but no one ever brought us any. The food was great but the service left a lot to be desired. We won't be going back.
