I was placed on a strict no dairy diet as breastfeeding mom. I missed bakery goods. My husband found this place and boy am I so thrilled for the dairy free cookies he found with them which were delicious!! He even got a vegan birthday cake for me! So definitely coming back for some of those cookies yumm! Did I mention the vegan chocolate cake non us could tell the difference.

My father was the foreman/ cake bakery from the late 1950’s - 1986 when he retired. He started working for the original owners (Wall Brothers) and then for Mark’s dad. Happy to hear that the high standards and cake baking product has continued over the years!
Nobody can ever dispute, the top-shelf quality of Wall’s bakery. My family has been regular customers since the early 1980s.
But what sometimes goes unnoticed is the people. Thank you, Mark for the tremendous love you showed us after the death of my father.

Killing time before flying home from JFK, I drove out to Hewlett for deli at Woodro and found Wall’s. It’s like stepping back in time to The Bronx, 1969, when bakeries like this abounded. So many choices and so little carry-on room. I went with two standards: a seeded rye and a checkerboard cake (the latter I haven’t seen in years). Both excellent. Real old school. These are the things I miss from back east (the traffic you can keep). Patronize places like Wall’s while you can.
