Food was delicious (especially those stuffed mushrooms) with fantastic service and a great rustic atmosphere. It was raining so couldn't see the views but from what I know of the area, they can be amazing from that location. Had a great time!

Been here twice so far and looking forward to our next visit. The service has been beyond amazing both times. Plenty of seating indoors but the outdoor area is really the best, especially on a nice day. I've gotten the Mixed Grill (sausage trio) both trips, but learned I could substitute the potato salad for fries - which well worth it, they are great. My wife has gotten the burger both times with plenty of options to add to it. Beer and cocktails were also wonderful.

The food was presented well but my husband had the short ribs which when served was a plate of brown mush. It tasted terrible he couldn’t finish it. He’s a huge fan of German food but our experience with this food tells us not to come back. I had the burger which was served on a dry pretzel bun but looked more like a meatball. I’d spend less time making it look pretty and more time in the quality of the ingredients to make it taste better. Limited menu. Over priced dishes that didn’t taste good at all.

This farm-to-table restaurant is truly a hidden gem, offering excellent German cuisine with a historic twist. The scenic view of the mountains adds to the ambiance, and the outdoor dining area enhances the experience. Culinary delights await, showcasing fresh ingredients straight from the farm to your table. Overall, it's a delightful experience.

Incredibly beautiful views of the surrounding natural landscapes, spacious outdoor terrace from which to view sunsets, and delicious food all round. Just don’t expect friendly waitresses.

I mean.. I don't want to sound bitter.. But I spent $130 on 5 burgers and fries... And all med rare burgers were burnt. Buns were old. French fries were okay.. That's a fair bit of money for burgers and fries. 3 out of 5 people didn't even eat them. I don't know if it was a fluke. I had them to go. A few year ago it was amazing. I don't mind paying for good food. But I literally could have had meat butchered. Baked pretzel rools and hand picked and cut potatoes into fries. I would have paid way less and at least everyone who was starving wouldn't have thrown out the food.. May just a bad day.. Especially because I gave them a massive tip. It was a to go order and ordered evething the same...to make it easier for them.. Ever medium would have been okay but burnt to death and stale rolls

Meh. Went there today with my in-laws for a birthday lunch… this place is mediocre at best.
The host whom I assume was the owner made it seem as we bothered him just by walking in, even though we had reservations.
Now, I’m a fan of German food but this place was NOT it. The food was bland and nothing to rave about. Fries were the most flavorful menu item. The burgers my family ordered (3 burgers medium) were overcooked. The menu is small since it is a small restaurant/bakery. Honestly, they could use a much more versatile lunch menu for the weekend.
The cocktail drinks were somehow tasteless and overpriced. Just as the food for what it was.
Our waitress however was a saint.
This place is way overrated. They do have a lovely view that is nestled in a cute portion of farmland. That’s about all they have going for them.

We were recommended to this place expectingGerman food. What we got was very bizarre, tasteless, and very expensive. It was a disappointment and waste of time.

Bringing the worst aspects of Manhattan to upstate. Maitre d' has a real chip on his shoulder and what seems like a visceral disdain for couples with children even on a quiet Sunday afternoon.. You can tell they're going for a kind of elevated German menu but the execution is a little off. The $36 mix grill is $4 of sausage and the same sauerkraut and potato salad you just ordered for sides and appetizers. The pretzel is served hard and cold, doesn't seem to be pretzel dough, unsalted, and with a strange and pungent cheese spread. Very odd.The server was lovely and unfortunately the experience was just off to a bad start from the host who I gather is also a part-owner or otherwise involved in managing the place. Definitely a place where separation of duties would do wonders. Skip it if you're looking for a cozy upstate German restaurant, or check it out if you can't get enough of the ushered, needlessly brusque welcome you get at lunch in midtown.
Kid-friendliness: Will tolerate your kid but will call you a party of 3 if you're a couple with a baby.

Didn’t let us in with our service dog and demanded to know what my disability was. Very rude. Place was totally empty.
Great food, great views, great beer, but surly owner who thinks she's doing you a favor by seating
