I like that they have full table service, the draft beer I had I thought was on the warm side and I thought their burger which was really good was a little overpriced. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Really want to like this place… the atmosphere is nice, the beer is great… but the food and the service really miss the mark. Looked at a lot of photos online and the food we got looked nothing like the old photos. For example specifically ordered a side of onion rings as old photos show stacks of crunch hand made onion rings but we just got a basket of greasy frozen fries. The salmon on my salad was the so small it was a joke… and it was $28! A fountain Diet Coke is $4 and doesn’t come with refills (as I learned the hard way when I got the bill). Waitress forgot the appetizers and entire entree (but wouldn’t admit it) and it took the kitchen 30 to fire a chicken sandwich that my friend had to eat alone since the rest of us were done…. The worst part is that we were there at 2p with hardly any other diners so how was the service so inept?! I think they would really benefit from a traditional brewery style ordering system where you place order at counter and take a number. Again want to like this place but would only come back for beers and not food as it’s a terrible value and bad service.

Visited at the tail end of July 4th weekend. It was apparent that staff was running on fumes but everyone was still very kind. I sampled the kolsch, rye lager, ESB, and a newly tapped hazy pale ale. The kolsch and pale were particularly good. Got the bratwurst with onions and cheese. Pro tip: the brat already comes with mustard, just top it with that. Use the cheese on the fries. They make them in house and you can tell. I would like to come back in the winter on a random day and try what dark beers they have then.

Look, I love this place and have been coming here for years. Great food and beer and in general a nice environment that’s always been welcoming. The food is still great and the beer good, and the employees are awesome. However, this new table service leaves a lot to be desired. I felt rushed to order and then every 5 minutes the guy was at our table clearing or asking what else we needed and in general the mood has shifted. What used to be casual and fun, ordering at the bar and picking up your own food, is now stiff and formal and rushed. I probably spent less than I ever had here tonight because it really felt like we were being pushed to go, even though most of the patio was empty. I love this place, I’m still going to come and spend my money and eat the good food and drink the good beer. It’s just very different now.

Love this place! We’ve been a few times before but recently came here for my wife’s birthday dinner. Great service, great food and great atmosphere. And they baked a special birthday cake that was fantastic!! We were a large party. Colleen who booked the party for us was very accommodating and helpful. I highly recommend Roe Jan!
My wife, friends and I have gone there a ton in the last three years, but our last visit with the new table service and new cook left a lot to be desired. Our waiter was really slow, forgot our drink order, and seemed almost disoriented. We would go from her not checking in for 25-30 minutes, to stopping by every two minutes, which seemed weird. It took over 50 minutes to get our food, which was very underwhelming. It was obvious that our cauliflower pizza crust was not fresh, but store bought/frozen and it showed in the taste (or last of it) compared to previous times we had the pizza. We love the beer, but I'd actually prefer ordering at the bar. At least that way we can control, to some extent, when we receive our food and drinks and have a more relaxing experience. It feels like they are trying to systematize its dining operation, but I fear that quality is suffering.

Burger was the best! Place is really nice, great set up and vibe. Beer was really good. We were there in winter, but summer with the deck must be amazing! The flatbread pizza was also good. Onion rings were delicious. Indeed a diamond in the rough, for sure. Don’t hesitate if you are in the area.
