This place is very overrated and over priced. I have eaten here a couple times in order for me to write a solid and accurate review. The food here is very dull and has no flavor. I got the chicken salad a couple of times that comes with fries…. The chicken as if it was the scraps, the fries aren’t cooked all the way and is like biting into a cold potato wedge. I also have gone to the bakery a few times and they charge $9 for a sandwich that only has one egg on it. Place is not worth spending your money on

On our way home from viewing solar eclipse. Found this wonderful restaurant in Homer on way home. We were seated immediately. Waitress was extremely attentive considering how crazy buzy the place was. Food was excellent. Highly recommend the Firecracker Scallops if you like spicy. Food very fresh. Lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend.

First time coming to The Exchange. So happy to see a place like this in Homer. The place looks great! I love seeing so many gluten free options. The calamari was great! Plating looked messy, but tasted good. My entrée, the halibut, was incredibly bland and had to add a ton of salt and pepper. All of our entrees seemed to have a combination of food/ingredients. Overall, the food wasn’t to the scale I’d expect for the price of the food and the interior of the restaurant.

A new hidden gem in Homer NY! The restaurant has a great atmosphere and brunch options. There is a bakery behind the restaurant so make sure you check it out! This bakery has yummy treats of all types and the sour dough bread was so tasty. Prices are reasonable, which is appreciated these days. Thank you for adding this bakery to the Homer village!

The fried calamari and fire cracker scallops were top notch, as well as the sides that came with them. Unfortunately, the "tender"loin was so tough, it was hard to cut it with a steak knife. I know this can happen sometimes. I'd go back again, but it's a hard no for the tenderloin.

Tried this place on the recommendation of a friend. Mixed experience. I liked the twist on bread for the table, instead it was a small plate of bagel chips with an herbed butter. I started with the potato and leek soup. It was nice and hot, but had a gummy texture to it that wasn't entirely pleasant. I followed that with the short rib entree. The portion of meat was humungous, far more than is necessary. The meat was tender enough, but didn't have much flavor and was on the dry side even though it wasn't even remotely overcooked. And there was a huge fat cap on about half of it, I'm talking close to an inch of fat, so the size of the portion was a bit misleading since such a big piece of it was fat. The best part of the entree was the 2 side dishes, although the menu listed a 3rd, butter beans, which I didn't see on my plate. The green beans were delicious, and the "15 hour potato" was interesting. It appeared to be thin layers of potato formed into a small block that had a lovely crispness, although it could have used some salt. My friend had the scallops, which she said were good but I noticed she didn't eat much of the mashed sweet potatoes although she likes sweet potatoes. For dessert, I had the key lime pie. It wasn't bad, just a bit heavier texture than I'm accustomed to. My friend had the vegan chocolate dessert. She said it was very good, although quite rich. It was accompanied by something that looked like a giant coconut chocolate chip macaroon which she said was also very good. The service was good, and the place is attractive inside, but we weren't sufficiently impressed to return, given that we live in Ithaca and there are numerous restaurants there that we agree are better.
