I ordered a baby shower cake (later than I should have 🫤). Katie Rose delivered EXACTLY what i asked for. The cake was BEAUTIFUL and tasted great! Could not have been more happy with it. Just perfect 🩷

I’ve ordered my birthday cakes from Katie Rose for the past few years, and they’ve always been incredible—so much so that one year, I even ordered two because I couldn’t get enough. That’s why I placed my order again this year, calling three weeks in advance to ensure everything would be perfect for my special day.

Unfortunately, that didn’t happen.

When I picked up the cake, I immediately noticed it wasn’t what I ordered. I had requested a chocolate cake with chocolate pudding, mousse, fresh strawberries, and chocolate ganache on top. Instead, it was covered in buttercream—something I specifically said I didn’t want. I politely pointed it out, and while they scraped off the buttercream and poured ganache over it, I later discovered a thick band of buttercream still inside the cake.

I called the next day to express my disappointment calmly and respectfully. Instead of acknowledging the mistake, the owner responded with, “Well, what do you want me to do?” She also told me I should have explicitly stated I didn’t want buttercream—when I had already made that clear when placing my custom order. From my understanding, a custom cake should include only the ingredients I asked for—nothing more. Her response felt dismissive and frustrating, especially since I had been kind and understanding.

Still, I tried to give them another chance and agreed to a remake. At pickup, the cake looked okay—but when I cut into it, there was still buttercream on the sides. And to top it off, I almost ate a piece of paper that had been baked into the cake.

I’m honestly heartbroken to say I won’t be returning. Everyone makes mistakes—but how a business handles those mistakes says everything. Between the poor attitude from the owner as well as her staff , and two failed attempts to get my order right, I’ve reached my limit. First time is a mistake, but to be rude to the customer and mess it up again is where I draw the line.

This place never fails. I have been coming here for at least 4 years and always consistent. I have had my little guys birthday cakes made here each year. They are creative and can take any picture and make it a reality. Birthday muffins for my son's birthday in school is a hit. They come packed so they satisfy school requirements of each being packaged. They offer gluten free alternatives as well. They have a selection of herbal teas which is great considering I don't drink caffeine. Amazing pies which I buy each year for thanksgiving or any other holiday or get togethers (memorial day was a hit). I hate answering atmosphere for places like this because I don't think it is pertinent. They are a bakery not a lounge or restaurant. Staff is very sweet and attentive. I wish I lived closer but the travel is worth it.

The cake was unfortunately stale. We didn’t even save it just tossed it.
For the price, I was expecting more quality. I understand you say in your reply that you make them fresh -- but I can assure you that it just fell apart, the buttercream was cracking while cutting it and falling apart—- and the cake itself was crumbling and stale.
To me, that is not made fresh. It was really disappointing for everyone as a child's birthday cake. Removed a star because the business reply insinuates that I’m not being truthful.

My family loves Katie Rose cakes! Not only are the cakes beautiful but they are delicious too. I live in Sullivan County and make the trip to Katie Rose when we need a cake because they truly are the best!

Got freshly brewed coffee and a rhubarb strawberry turnover. Love this place.

Katie Rose baked our wedding cake, and we couldn't be happier! The ladies there took note of the things we liked for design. We sent them some style ideas, and the baking and decorating was perfect!

Ordered a specific color cake.the wrong shade was made and the owner and dad tried to make it like it was my fault when they had the color printed on a piece of paper in front if them.the ribbon looked like a kindergartener made it.so unhappy with the look of cake as it was for a baby shower.very important to look right.i will say the cake was flavorful but the appearance was not good at all. And the attitude on the father of the owner was unacceptable, telling me he Lost money on the cake over $320 for 8 inch cake. Will never return.

Very friendly, customer oriented staff. Our favs are the turnovers - cherry, blueberry, apple, almond croissant and of course the small linzer cookies YUM.

Excellent gluten free options

Who knew a gluten free cake could be sooo goood?! Got a chocolate cake with chocolate mousse from Katie Rose and it was delicious.

Katie Rose helped us with a gluten free and dairy free cutting cake to accommodate allergies for our wedding. Katie was amazing to work with. The cake was delicious! We have used Katie Rose for many events in the past and have never been disappointed.

I ordered a cake for the first time for a friend’s shower. The cake was so delicious (and pretty-they did such a nice job!), the staff were so family friendly and the prices are totally reasonable ! While we were there, we also picked up some dog biscuits and carrot cake cupcakes. My kids and dogs loved them!! I would highly recommend this bakery and this will certainly be my go to spot from now on. Thank you! 😊

Katie rose bakery created our wedding cake and we could not be happier. There are so many flavor choices and you can really customize it to exactly what you need! Our cake was absolutely delicious and we are excited to eat the leftover slices. On top of a beautiful wedding cake, Katie also worked with us to have some gluten free options for guest and a special additional cake for my mom’s birthday. Everything was delicious and we could not be happier that we chose Katie Rose Bakery!

Such a cute place with good food! Absolutely loved that they had an entire section of GF butter cookies, donuts, brownies, macaroons, cupcakes, and what I tried was very good. The cakes in the display looked beautiful! We came today (Sun 10/27) for the first time, and the girl who served us at the counter who made us our lattes and got our cookies was so sweet and so helpful! Great experience and we'll definitely be back! P.S. thanks so much for offering well-made GF desserts/breads for those of us who can't have gluten! Really appreciate it!
