Walked in to a nearly empty restaurant just now, a Saturday evening. We were told they could not accommodate any additional customers. You could not handle my wife and me? More than bizarre. First try, last try.

Don’t know what happen to this place. Went there when it just opened. It was wonderful in every way. It was steadily going down for a few years. We were at the place for dinner and the menu looked just like it’s brunch. Ceases salad was swimming in dressing. Found a strip of steel from a sponge in it ( about 4” long .) Fries were soggy and tasteless ( definitely worth than McD’s,) Burger ordered rare came well done. I didn’t say anything to the waitress. Considering that we were the only customers I’d expect a better attention to cooking. I think it was my last visit here

A wonderful place we found after a nice afternoon hike - the space is warm and cozy, the service friendly and attentive, and everything we ate was delicious. We had the local pickled veggies, deviled eggs, and an outstanding veggie burger with a side of incredible buffalo/blue cheese brussels sprouts. So glad to have found this spot and can't wait to return.

Among the best restaurants in the area! Awesome food cooked to perfection, great brews & drinks, and a relaxing atmosphere in 9ne of the hippest towns in Sullivan County. Evan (and Martin) serve up excellent cuisine! Thank you!

Everything about them is awesome- IF THEYRE OPEN. We’ve been here 3x. First time was great- food, staff, cleanliness. The second and third time, they were closed even tho google said they were open. It’s becoming a waste of time to visit, especially if you’re hungry. Pickled Owl, please update your google hours if you’re closed!

Unique well-executed takes on classics pub grub. I enjoyed the apple blueberry hard cider, lamb burger, side of mac & cheese, and butternut squash hummus with winter veggies. Friendly service. Cozy decor with personality that doesn't take itself too seriously. Exceeded expectations. Adjacent playground for kids before/after meal.

Great find when visiting the area. The juicy lamb burger had an excellent balance with the feta sauce and paired well with the hand cut fries. We enjoyed the butternut squash humus with winter vegetables. Staff was extremely friendly and the decor was unique and cozy.Dear Susan S who wrote the negative review and won't be coming back...thanks for making the seats available for our visit. ;)

Food was a bit overpriced for what you got. My daughter got chicken strips for $9 which was three small tenders with some french fries. My burger was good but $2.50 to add a slice of cheese??

Hi I’m a frequent goer of the Pickled Owl and as of recently they’ve been getting it correct. I believe there was a rocky period when they were looking for a new executive chef because I noticed the menu was not rotating for quite some time! Happy to see last time my husband and I went there were some specials that were worth trying. The calamari portion should definitely be bigger and the curry aioli is not a great match. I think possibly having some type of sweet chili sauce or even salt and pepper calamari would work well here. The hummus and marinated olives are always a hit. I love that they add a seasonal flare to the hummus (it was beet when we went last and caramelized onions and garlic before that) so I absolutely look forward to having those things every time I come here. The Ciders on tap are also always stellar and the Mac n Cheese is always exquisite because the cheese is locally sourced I believe.Ordering to go here is really a NO!!! The portions to go never match the in house portions. This is an in person experience.Overall I recommend this place and it’s always a pleasure to spend my currency here.

Knowing the place has a small menu, we saw the list of specials on the window, so we went in. I ordered a beer, my wife asked for a small taste of a Chardonnay. The waitress poured her a full serving. We then asked for the salmon special. We were told that's only on the weekends. We ordered the grilled veggies appetizer. She bought us the veggie side order. The food was good. Sitting on the deck in October was great. The service ... a real shame.

I have been to the Pickled Owl numerous times, mostly for brunch, and it has always been good. But this past weekend, I stopped in for dinner after a movie across the street. My son and I ordered a burger and deviled eggs. Both were SO good, but the burger (and the fries) were outstanding. It was just delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant - great food, atmosphere and staff!!
