Wasn't open but the phone message said it was. So don't go unless you're sure it's open. Rating was required or I would not have rated it.

The good?

The service was perfectly reasonable. The lady who hosted our wine tasting seemed knowledgeable and kind. The property seems nice. There's a dog to greet you.

The bad?

The bistro is closed. There's a sign saying as such but that they have food anyways. None of the food options were available. The wines were ok, at best. Nothing to write home about, genuinely surprised and disappointed.

The ugly?

The - admittedly very nice- front desk lady informed us that the lobster had gone bad and the chicken also was no longer fit for serving upon asking about food options. Kind of a gross over share and I understand the food isn't the focus, but it still sort of turned my stomach.

Overall Summary?

Meh, it appears they will soon be under new ownership and management. Hopefully they can turn things around because at the moment, it's a hard pass.

We had a very nice time at Americana. The staff was friendly and knowledgable. The wine was good and paired with light snacks. Also, although we do not have a dog, we enjoyed the dog-friendly atmosphere.

Best blueberry wines in the finger lakes. Hopefully the new owner will be true to what they have established.

We participated in the Bacon on the Lake wine trail event. This was my favorite stop. The candied bacon they made with hot pepper jam on a cracker was great!!
The atmosphere was nice and the wine was very good. The service was great from several employees.

Awesome place. Owner is a Trekkie which made the conversation 1000% better :)

Excellent wine! You get cheese crackers and wine with your tasting. Be sure to get the hummus platter! The people that own this are the best

The overall 4.2 rating is not justified. Most of the 1's are over 2 years old. This winery is a fun place with much to offer beyond wines. That said, there are 23 wines to choose from so something for everyone! Loved that the tastings (any 4 wines you want) came with various crackers, cheeses and fudges to cleanse the pallet and transition into or out of each wine. Joe, our server, was very friendly and shared his knowledge of the wines. Had an excellent experience here all around.

The last time we visited the Americana Winery in 2017, we were thrilled with the Ambiance and free fudge samples. However, this Winery has changed significantly since then.

I don't really enjoy giving a negative review, however,
this winery is starting to feel tired and dated. Our group was the only group that came in for tastings in nearly an hour. The grounds are starting to look tired, and the winery feels discombobulated with many dated products, and decor. One corner had Halloween decorations, while another area still had a small Christmas tree erected.

Slushies were available, as well as wine tastings. Wine was served in a clear plastic cup.

They offered samples of dips that they had on the shelf.

There was a "for sale" sign on the property, I don't imagine that we will visit this Winery again, unless it is under new management

Note: My gal pals are back back in the Finger Lakes for our 10th annual tour and I am reviewing the wineries that we visited. These reviews are based on our experience this year (2024) as policies, owners and crop can fluctuate, year to year.

Used to be a favorite, but my last visit there was disappointing. We asked for a taste of one wine before choosing a glass, and were treated rudely. (This should not be an unusual request). Ordered 3 glasses of wine, and were served in plastic cups (we were sitting inside). I'm not opposed to plastic, but do expect a wine glass when ordering at a winery.
