overall our experience last night was enjoyable. the food was very good , server was very friendly. After we ate we decided to stay for some drinks at the bar, i apologize for bringing this to a google review but i feel as though ANY owner would want to know if an employee seems under the influence. The male bartender last night was friendly and drinks where served, it took a moment as was not behind the bar at first. apologized for wait , as we ordered it was clear the what appeared to be a mid later 30 something yr old male was under the influence. We felt as a group this should be brought to your attention. thank you

You won’t find a better beach bar and restaurant on Lake Erie. It’s a local treasure that combines amazing entertainment, food and drinks under the sun and sunset.

My family rents a beach house every summer, and every year we have to come back to Cabana Sam’s, it’s always been the place! 🌊☀️ They have great specials every day and such a fun, laid-back atmosphere. The food is always fresh, and the drinks are delicious!

Bar and dinner service can take a little while for food and refreshments to come out, so make sure you have plenty of time to relax and enjoy. That’s my only critique, but honestly, the wait is worth it! Definitely try their drinks, we got strawberry daiquiris, and they were absolutely amazing. 🍓🍹

The wings are great, but my personal favorite is the quesadillas, everything is full of flavor and super fresh. We ate here for a full week and never once got cold food, everything came out hot and perfect every single time!

Cabana Sam’s is definitely a staple of Sunset Bay, and it’s part of what makes our summers here so special. ❤️

I really like this place, but the service is not consistent. My most recent visit resulted in no drink order taken nor food.
We went back today and were served very promptly.

We loved it! Fair prices with a variety offered and an ice cream parlor below. It was kind of party/ college vibes when we went but still family friendly and right on the lake. **Update after owner response we did sit up in the enclosed area which was very nice upstairs. It was a really windy day but they had coverage which blocked majority or the wind. Would definitely visit again if in the area.

When we arrived, the experience started off poorly with the bouncer at the door. He was incredibly rude and denied my brother entry due to having a vertical ID — even though he’s 22. He claimed it was “state policy,” which simply isn’t true. As someone who works in the industry, I understand the importance of checking IDs to keep your establishment safe, but I also know that vertical IDs are not illegal or automatically invalid. If that were the case, the state wouldn’t issue them.
The bouncer, who seemed about the same age as us, honestly came off like he was just enjoying the power trip. It would’ve gone a lot differently if he had simply said it was the venue’s policy to only accept horizontal IDs, which is totally their right. But the attitude was unnecessary.

Inside, our waitress was super sweet and did a great job, but unfortunately the food was disappointing. The wings were the only thing we enjoyed — everything else just didn’t hit the mark and seemed like it was straight out of the microwave but not in a good way.

Overall, it wasn’t a great experience. Between the unwelcoming entry and subpar food, I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re headed straight to the bar and there to enjoy the music.

We went to eat yesterday afternoon at this place for the first time, we wanted to sit on the terrace, but even though there were hundreds of people, the hostess wanted to give us a table inside, we asked outside and she said she would investigate, she took us back to the podium and finally took us to the terrace where there were many empty tables, she didn't seem very happy that we preferred us outside, the waitress was very kind, attentive and with super service, the food was cold, not warm, it was cold, we couldn't eat it and we asked for it to go. This was our experience, maybe it helps you improve

We're annual renters here, and yesterday was our first ice cream run of the year to the ice cream shop right next to cabana sam’s. I ordered a caramel toffee crunch sundae and a homemade ice cream sandwich, but I got a sundae with peanut butter instead of caramel (caramel is literally in the name) Plus, the girl making the ice cream sandwich wasn't wearing gloves when she handled the cookie that i was going to eat! While I was waiting, I saw another employee making a chocolate custard for the customer behind me. She literally stuck her bare finger into the top of the custard to flatten it I've worked at an ice cream shop for years, and that's totally unprofessional and a health code violation.
