Excellent service and great ambiance. Food is good, if a little pricey, and the beach view of the sunset is fantastic.

Great experience. We had a perfect view of the ocean right in front of us. Scott was our server and was great. The energy increased as it got later. This was our first time there. We were so pleased to find it is a sister restaurant of Moonshadows, a Malibu classic that was lost in the fire.

It was a great visit. We tried the Tricolored Salad, and it was delicious. But, once again, the Octopus and Pumpkin Tortelloni stole the spot light. We'll be back soon.

Not sure we'll go back. Our server forgot about us for so long that we went and found her (which I have NEVER done in my entire life). This happened TWICE during our meal. Most bizarre experience ever. Won't be recommending.

A few of us couldn’t decide what we wanted to eat tonight, we decided to head to Sunset Bay Restaurant, I have had their food before and it never disappointed. However, tonight we were waited on by Thomas…. He started off with a light joke and it just kept getting better. He kept our table laughing every time he came to check on us. I hope SBR knows how much value he added to their restaurant tonight. Thank you again Thomas for providing exceptional service and most of all creating memories for our table.

Sunset has been one of my fave Malibu dining spots for years. Good location (except for beach traffic and parking) across from the beach, with usually friendly service, good food, and a nice selection of wines and cocktails. However, this visit was a big disappointment and happened to be a special occasion - a birthday celebration. Despite making a very early dinner reservation, the restaurant seemed to be understaffed. It is a popular dining spot, but I've never experienced watching and hearing multiple diners at tables near us trying to flag down a server- whether it was to place their initial order, check on the status of their drinks or food items , or make some other request. While I made a point of mentioning to the server when she first came to the table for drink orders that my friend was hungry and we'd want to order soon, I'd watch her go to tables close to us several times over 10 or 15 minutes and never acknowledge our meeting of eyes or approach our table to work with us. Very slow and inattentive service, And my entree was very disappointing. I ordered the seafood linguine and while the pasta and sauce was tasty the dish was Alamos w tiredly calamari rings and little prices which were very chewy/tough. I ate less than 1/3 of the ‘seafood'. Very disappointing experience - didn't make for a special birthday celebration.

Our Host and Hostess were extremely accommodating The restaurant was very crowded . We were seated a bit earlier than expected and attended to immediately. The GM noticed our table was a bit too close to a party of 8 young kids .. and kindly moved us. Our food and service was excellent. If you like vibrant and lively atmospheres You gotta book your reservation.
We took a last minute drive to Malibu to see the sunset 🌅. I was able to watch the sunset and my husband was able to watch the football 🏈 game on their TV in the bar. We split the Zuma salad and ordered a salmon on the side that was cooked to perfection!! Incredible evening and Edwardo the valet is always so attentive and friendly.

We were coming back from a week long getaway upstate New York. Taking RT5 and getting frustrated looking for a place to eat. We saw The SUNSET BAY RESTAURANT.
We had no idea of pricing, ratings or quality of food. So I made a quick turn in and we came in not expecting a lot. BOY WERE WE WRONG!!!
We were greeted right a way…….. we ordered the Smash burger with the smash sauce and sweet potato fries. Good thing we split it, it was HUGE!!!
Krystal was our server, she is AWESOME!!!!! Kind, professional and very friendly. The food was out in less than 10 minutes, everything was hot and fresh. She checked on us to make sure everything was good. There was no greater option but 5 stars, I would have given 100 stars if that was an option.
