I had high hopes for the ice cream to be very special here, as many Long Islanders recommend it. I try to sample homemade ice cream wherever I go, and there are some great ones on LI (Magic Fountain, Cafe Italia, Opties & Dingies, Patty’s Berries and Bunches), but Coyle’s quality was nowhere near any of these. I ordered Coconut, which was creamy, rich and tasted more like vanilla. My friend ordered Butter Pecan, she said it tasted like aspertame, and requested a new flavor. She chose pistachio, and not only was it an abnormal shade of green, it tasted like artificial pistachio flavoring. Two small cups cost us $12, and it was extremely disappointing. Also, the benches were dirty with smeared chocolate, as well as a table. It seems the owners might need more staff.

We tried the Brooklyn egg cream for the first time - cola flavor tastes like a float.
The one star is lost due to the staff. I'd say 90% of the time I go - the staff has a bad attitude. Disappointing when you're going for a fun ice cream experience.
The vibes are fun, 1950s ice cream parlor with a bunch of mirrors and chrome.

The ice cream was very good but that’s where it ends. The girl working today was just terrible! Couldn’t take the order, seemed annoyed that we were even there. The Swedish fish were stale and she was annoyed that we asked for fresh ones or to take them off the bill. Paid $23 for 1 small and 2 medium Ice creams with no toppings.
