This seemed like the best cocktail bar around on our short visit to Ithaca from Brooklyn. Knowledgeable staff, excellent decor and atmosphere, excellent drink menu.

Didn't have food but the drinks are fantastic. If you're with a small group they have a free places for you to sit together.

This place is the bomb! It is a beautifully restored inn well located right near Ithaca Commons. The decor is so cool and hip but also with very practical touches. They really think of everything. The beds are so comfy and the shower great and we were with my teenage daughter who had a rollaway in a little nook with a curtain so she even had some privacy. The coffee availability in the morning is top notch -self serve amazing drinks and the bar gets such a great crowd at night. Literally THE ONLY NEGATIVE is that they don't serve breakfast. But it is located very close to breakfast options. I would never stay anywhere else in Ithaca.

After considerable research and much discourse my wife and I decided to stay for an evening in Ithaca on our way back to Canada from NYC. There were several viable options, but ultimately we chose what we thought would be the best fit for us. It's walking distance from the Commons, the Cornell Campus and the Falls, combined with it's old world charm and modern amenities, seemed to perfectly fit our preferred script, but of course one never truly knows what's on offer until arriving on the scene. Rarely, if ever, does a hotel exceed expectation, especially with the bevy of filtered/manufactured photos that are readily available for one's viewing online. We opted to stay in the King Slate room, which was both spacious and beautifully appointed with eclectic seating options, exposed brick, local art and a walk-in rainfall shower. Now the water pressure was definitely in need of a boost, but that didn't take away from the overall experience. I would recommend this room, or one of the adjacent options, if you were planning to go to sleep before 11, as the hotel has a smallish, albeit fairly well-attended, bar on the main floor. From our room we could hear no periphery bar noise, but if I could suggest one thing it might be wise to invest in some doube-glazed windows, as the road in front of the hotel is quite busy and 18 wheelers can be heard on occasion throughout the night. Regardless of this very minor issue, the stay, the accomodations and the staff we had the pleasure to converse with were all top drawer. I would both recommend it to family/friends and undoubtedly stay here again should the opportunity ever arise. You should be proud of what you've created here, so much so that others in the industry should use the Argos as a blueprint for creating the perfect hybrid between a B&B and a boutique hotel. Cheers

Great location as we were going to Cornell University for Homecoming. Very neat, clean and comfortable. Our only complaint was that we stayed on the top floor and there was no elevator. The stairways to our 3rd floor were winding and narrow and not easy to carry up a suitcase (although the person at the desk said help was available). Had we known, we probably would have booked a first floor room. Although we didn’t use it, there was a bar and the outdoor area seemed very festive.

They have a nice, unique cocktail menu. Bar is well stocked with unique amaros amongst other higher end bar expectations. Bar tenders are nice, knowledgeable about their craft, and attentive. Atmosphere is interesting. Whole bottom floor of the hotel is accessible to drink in along with a decent patio. The only downside I experienced is there seems to be compulsive tipping. I don't really mind for a bar like this, but would prefer if prices were just adjusted accordingly.

We arrived and we were told that our room was ALMOST ready, so we walked into town. Within 5 minutes we were solicited by 2 young men and passed several people openly selling drugs on the corner. We did have lunch and returned 2 hours later and the room was STILL NOT READY. So we took a ride to several wineries. We are both over 70 years old and when we returned we were given ROOM 301. The absolutely longest set of stairs I have ever seen. No problem if I was not getting treated for 2 cancers, but there was no one to complain to, and nobody at the desk when we checked out, one day early. If you are healthly and don't mind was drug transactions, its fine.

Chill vibes, great service, strong drinks, and an incredibly cozy atmosphere inside and out. Bar Argos was one of the best bars we visited in Ithaca, and one we will come back to next time we're in town.

Wide variety of cocktails, some of which are trying to be a bit too rambunctious. But there's something for everyone, and really only a few years back it was the only option in town to get a good cocktail at an upscale location. They remain a top pick in town, although they have more competition these days.

We took over the entire inn for a wedding weekend. Micah, Sarah, Tippy, CJ, Theo and Avi welcomed us and were attentive to all our needs. The inn is beautiful and has lovely nooks and crannies that make it cozy and elegant all at the same time. On Sunday we hosted a breakfast for 90 people and used both the indoor and outdoor tented spaces. It became our home away from home, which is just what we had hoped.
