This is one of those places you walk by a lot and never realize its actually there because its in the lower level of the building. Very cozy. Drinks are unique and well inspired. The Thursday special also made the food worth while. I got filled just off the appetizers alone.
Meals were so good! Nice watermelon jicama salad and three killer tacos. We were not in the mood for the fried plantains but were tasty. Friendly, efficient service and really liked the warm, underground feel of the place.
First our serving sloshed the drinks over the rims of the glasses washing the salt off. Then we were served chips that were badly over cooked... brown and tasted a bit burnt. The pork carnitas, generally one of my favorite dishes at a Mexican restaurant, were fatty and kind of soggy. Over cooked is not a substitute for tender. Last but not least, our waiter was clearly trying to rush our meal. We were trying to enjoy our time with a friend we'd not seen in a long time,...
