When I went to this Starbucks, I ordered the caramel brûlée latte with a gift card, and aside from it tasting completely different from past experience, it had a hair in it, and was spilling out the sides. I went back in and asked for credit, but the employee refused. I then asked her if she could replace it with another drink that cost the exact same but she again refused. Because I didn’t want the same drink that was so bad, I paid to get another. When it came out after about 10 mins it was completely melted, covered in dissolving whipped cream, and tasted absolutely terrible. I got no compensation whatsoever, and paid for two drinks that I hated, and ended up throwing away.

I’ve been a regular at this location, and a Starbucks customer, for years, but things have been going steadily downhill. There’s no consistency between drinks (I’ve even had to explain the recipe more than once). The store is often staffed with just one person on the floor, and when I’ve asked to speak to a manager I’m repeatedly told no one is available. The café is frequently dirty and they’re often out of basic ingredients. I’ve also been overcharged multiple times because new employees aren’t properly trained. After they scan my app and make a mistake, I’m told they can’t issue a refund since there’s no manager on site, so I’ve had to call corporate to get my money back.

All of that might be forgivable if the customer service felt welcoming, but two newer staff members have been consistently rude in my experience: one employee without a name tag (blonde, often wearing braids) and an employee named Zoey. They often greet customers with frowns, sigh, and roll their eyes during orders. I don’t need anyone to fawn over me, but if I’m spending $10 on a drink I expect basic courtesy, not to be treated like an inconvenience. At this point, if I walk in and see Zoey working, I turn around and take my business elsewhere.

I’m leaving this review because I want this store to succeed. Please address staffing and training, ensure a manager is present or reachable, improve cleanliness, keep essential ingredients in stock, and train new employees so customers aren’t overcharged. In the meantime, I encourage locals to buy from small businesses nearby.

While sometimes severely understaffed, the spirit and the quality at this Starbucks is amazing!!! I come often and while the line can be frustrating sometimes, I have never gotten a bad drink. Sara and the guy with the beard work so hard and move that line! Thank you ❤️❤️❤️

It’s a cookie cutter version of every Starbucks that is in a target. And just like every other Starbucks, the service was spot on. Kind of respectful people and I have nothing bad to say!

The staff is nice but only one person is working. She has to take one order and make one and then take the next order. Very stressful. Feel bad for the staff working here. So the line is always long too, since this place don’t take mobile order. It took much longer than I expected.

Yesterday. Bought a food item for my child. Asked for the largest cup of ice water. Lady kept telling me to get water from target cups. I told her those cups were too small for what I needed, and that I needed a water from Starbucks because it also has a lid. I was willing to pay for the cup, no problem. The Starbucks employee kept telling me to just go get the target cup. I repeated myself and my needs. I have been a long time Starbucks drinker!! Finally she slammed down on the counter the smallest cup Starbucks had. She was extremely rude. The other staff who filled up the water for me again put the cup down in an abrupt manner, and wouldn’t look at me or acknowledge me when I said thank you. These Starbucks staff are rude and have no class. The staff act as though it is them against the customers as though they were a pack defending themselves. I know they are busy, but really - if you can’t handle a customer service position in a professional way - you probably find somewhere else to be than in that type of position. The staff were EXTREMELY rude and EXTREMELY unprofessional.

The people working here are always very nice, but they are understaffed and their coffee is always stale. I started ordering Americanos because I knew they would be fresh. Then I didn't go for a long time and forgot, returned and ordered a Venti coffee, and it was stale. $3.50 for stale coffee. It's symbolic of all of Ithaca, really.

The service is always great but I’ve been to this location many times and each time there has never been more than two people working and always a very long line. You need to start adding more people because this isn’t fair to this poor workers

Love that the cashier has to explain management watches them to make sure no water cups are given out but cant staff more than one individual at a time during the am.
