This is consistently good, the fish is the most fresh that you can find in the area. We have not been for hibachi.

Care is taken with food preparation. Everything is very tasty, easy to accommodate dietary needs. Good service and prices are okay. Good value.

This is an AMAZING sushi and hibachi house, I got a couple pieces of sashimi and the steak and chicken hibachi. To start, they gave soup AND a salad with a super tasty dressing that is definitely homemade. The sashimi was sooooo fresh and yummy and perfectly temped. The steak was super tender and the chicken was sooo good, the sauce that the chicken was in was to die for. Also, their fried rice was amazing. I honestly wish I lived in this city so I can try more of their sushi! Also also, the portions were huuuge!

It's so difficult to find outstanding sushi these days. Sumo has a deceiving outer curbside view, but inside it is way nicer than anticipated. The sushi was very good as well.

Honestly, more for the show than the taste. The chicken breast was not marinated beforehand and the fried rice had just eggs. Love the fire show, but for the dinner set price of over 30$ per person, was expecting better food.Love the chef who did the tricks though, was a fun night out with friends.

This has been my sushi go-to for Ithaca. The Crazy tempura roll is good, crisp, and seasoned. I regularly order the lemon roll, as it's refeshing, with a nice bite of lemon on top. The Black Pepper tuna roll is spicy in a peppery and wasabi-sinus-clearing way, with the end piece usually the tastiest bit. sweet The Ocean roll (mayo crab top) is also a house favorite, but not as well-liked as the American dream roll, with mango topping. This one is a favorite order. The Yummy yummy is the American dream with lobster tempura and no eel). The Dynamic is a nice light tempura fry. The Jumbo is indeed jumbo-sized! The good thing about their dine-in is they are accomodating, and have always had seats. I remember one day, I got a free side dish for my birthday when I asked about it. This was pre-pandemic, so I wouldn't recommend asking nowadays. Either way, a comforting local spot for the sushi fix, even if it's different from what I'm accustomed to in SoCal and Japan.

Sumo is legit! I've recently moved to Ithaca and this is my sushi spot.

Place was beautiful. Gorgeous interior with a nice fish tank. The crowds were very large with college students but the wait wasn’t bad. Restrooms were clean. Waiter placed us at the hibachi table gave drinks but the cook never came out after 45 mins we had to find someone to actually cook. Sushi was very fresh and tasty and very well priced. Only a tiny bit of soy sauce given for two sets of rolls unfortunately. The duck rolls were gross. The sauce on it tasted terrible. Hibachi was ok.

Food was fine but servers were incredibly rude. Constantly gave us attitude when we weren't ready to order and took away plates when we weren't done. The cherry on top, we tipped 15% but when the server took the check she told us we didn't tip enough and forced us to choose 18, 20, or 22%. Insane.

Atmosphere is nice. Was seated right away. Didn’t take long to get food. ? Sushi was good. Hibachi wasn’t bad, but was dry and lacked flavor. Not a bad place, but have had better.
