We had a great experience at Banfi's. We had the fried Artichoke appetizer, definitely was a good serving, plenty for 3 or 4 people (we took some of it home so we wouldn't spoil our dinner). I had the Salmon; it was cooked perfectly, not overdone, delicious and highly recommended. Hubs had shrimp scampi, very happy as well. We were there early so it was quiet but noise level did pick up as the restaurant filled. The restaurant is nicely divided so it feels more intimate. Free valet parking makes it easy in and out.
Every dish was delectable. The service was friendly and accommodating, but not overbearing. This was an all around great experience.
Food selection was very good, atmosphere is very pleasant, a nice place for. a larger gathering or to celebrate an occasion. A la Carte is not available on Weekend mornings between 10 - 2, making it an expensive option if you are not interested in a several course brunch.
Always a delicious meal and excellent service

Banfi is a hidden gem on the Cornell Campus. While cost could be prohibitive to some, the food is exceptional and worth the splurge. I would highly recommend Banfi as a "must visit" stop when on Campus or visiting Ithaca.
First off, the bread given to us was so fresh and tasty. We ordered the octopus appetizer, the fried chicken entree (which I added potato puree to), and the salmon entree, and they were all delicious!! We also ordered a cheesecake for dessert, which tasted great. Most notable of our great experience was the wonderful staff and service. Our server was Kevin, who was so kind and patient. We had inquiries about breakfast the next day at dinner. He does not normally serve at breakfast, but he helped us by asking the staff and gave us good advice! I have a sensitive stomach, and Kevin, bless his soul, went back to the kitchen 5 times to refill my hot water. He was very accommodating and attentive! Would 100% return; thank you Kevin!

Taverna Banfi is a Tuscan-inspired restaurant with wonderful food and exceptional service. I had high expectations since many Cornellians recommended it, and overall it delivered. The Crab Cake, Spinach and Stracciatella Salad, and New York Strip were excellent. The Jurgielewicz Duck Breast, however, was a bit dry and under-marinated, and the Grilled Octopus appetizer was slightly too salty. Service was outstanding, usually two servers, one experienced and one Cornellian in training, both friendly and attentive, making the whole experience very comfortable.
Unfortunately we had a very poor experience Sunday night our appetizers came out and there was a 45 minute wait between the time appetizers were served in our entrees were served even though they were both ordered at the same time inexcusable and a shame for a hotel that is supposed to be training the Next Generation.
Taverna Banfi is a must visit on our every trip, however it disappointed us last night for dinner. The server did not show up for a long time after we were seated and was a bit lacking on asking if we were ready to order, etc. But she was very nice. The food unfortunately was extremely salty. There were clumps of sea salt sprinkled over everything from the ricotta crostini to pasta pesto to halibut entree. We did not want to be rude, so did not send back any of the dishes but the salt in the appetizers numbed our taste buds such that in the entree, we tasted only salt. Our brunch/breakfast experience at the Taverna was outstanding. Food, service and ambience lived up to our usual 5 -star experience. Excellent.
Relatively limited fixed breakfast menu but very tasty and well portioned. Service was outstanding! The buffet is very good and fresh.

The atmosphere was amazing really nice but we were charged for a 80$ ny strip steak and a crab cake which is insane. On our way out we scanned our qr code for the valet which said estimated 5 minute wait. we waited 10-15 minutes in the lobby and it wasnt until we heard the valet tell another guest the qr code sometimes doesnt work. All the while, both valets were 5 feet away from us the entire time not even the least bit curious if we needed something.

Banfi's is a very reliable dinner out with good service and a warm ambience. I loved their new veg dish---porcini campanelle! Any time I find a new veggie or plant-based dish on the menu I'm so happy!
They serve a very good brunch, however we have had better. The service was excellent. Some items were fantastic, like the penne pasta and the banana/nutella crepes. Most dishes were good, but not great. But there is only so much you can do with breakfast. It is the best brunch in Ithaca, and the hotel is spectacular, as is the setting.

Went for a dinner with our freshman daughter, wonderful food, incredible service from our waiter Joe. I have many food sensitivities and he worked with me and the kitchen to perfection.
We had never dined at Taverna Banfi despite living locally for years. What a pleasant surprise. Everyone who worked there were very friendly and professional. The food was very good. Will definitely bring out of town guests to dine.
