This is our second visit to the restaurant. The food has been fantastic both times, and the service outstanding. Get a seat by the window to look at the campus, it's just beautiful.

Great food - you can tell they use fresh ingredients. I had the best shrimp scampi I ever had and the burrata was divine. Great value for the amount and quality of food. Service is always exceptional and ambience is perfect.

The food was quite good and the service was awful. Our waitress literally could not open a bottle of wine (my friend opened it for her) and did not offer to have one of us taste it, waited way too long to come take our order even though the place was mostly empty, completely forgot that we had told her we had to leave by a fixed time, etc., etc., etc. Any restaurant, and esp a quality one, should properly train its wait staff before turning them loose on patrons. This college sophomore clearly had minimal training and greatly diminished our dining experience.

The place is beautiful; however, the food was subpar. The zucchini pasta was not tasty. The lettuce in the octopus salad was wilted, and the greens salad was uneventful. The service was just OK. I've had better places in Ithaca, like Moosewood or Allechent.

We loved this restaurant for dinner ahead of our Cornell tour the next morning! Service was excellent and the food was beyond delicious! Very impressive Cornell!

So the dinner starts at 5:30 and we cannot switch to a window seat at 2pm…? The room was pretty empty btw and it was my friend’s birthday. This is a very simple request that’s not gonna be turned down at any other place. What a bullshit.

We went to the brunch buffet and it was disappointing in terms of food quality and available selections. Definitely, not worth $35 per person. Staff and place are great.

We went to the brunch Buffett and they food was quite good. Overall I think it's was too pricey for what was offered but the service was amazing. Yuko was a great waitress and is so kind and sweet.

Interesting and flavorful dishes well prepared and timely served. Portions too large, however, felt like we were wasting precious food since we were visiting and couldn't take the uneaten portion with us, Decor definitely needs an update and an upgrade given the quality of the food, price point and attentive service.

Congratulations to Taverna Banfi for their exceptional range of vegetarian and gluten-free options! It’s impressive how you maintain such exquisite flavors and variety without compromising on quality. The ambiance is also incredibly pleasant, making it a delightful experience right in the heart of Cornell University.

Highly recommended!

“Breakfast in the heart of Cornell University”

Among the prestigious universities in the eastern United States, there is an Ivy League university. Famous private universities that we know of, such as Harvard, Yale, and Princeton, are part of the Ivy League, and the origin of the name is very interesting.
It is said that the name was given to show tradition because the characteristic feature of a prestigious university in the East is that the building is covered with ivy due to its age.
Most of these universities are over 150 years old, and the only Ivy League university that includes a public university is Cornell University.

Although Cornell University is a private university, some majors are operated as public institutions, so it is characterized by an academic system that is a mixture of private and public disciplines. Agriculture, engineering, life sciences, medicine, and veterinary medicine are among the top majors in the world, and hotel management is also the world's top major. It is known as Therefore, it is said that Cornell education is absolutely necessary to join a well-known global hotel chain or become a manager.

There is a hotel operated by this major within the school, the Statler Hotel.
It is true that the Statler Hotel has had a significant influence on modern hotel management, but it is also famous for being used as a training ground for students at Cornell's Hotel Management School.
Students learn practical skills by experiencing work in an actual hotel, and based on this, they learn the basics of being a hotelier and manager.

The hotel’s restaurant is <Tarverna Banfi>.
This restaurant was also built through donations and has full-time employees, but is also used as a training center for students.
It serves authentic Italian-style cuisine and is recognized as a formal restaurant recognized by locals.

Brunch is served daily, and both buffet style and a la carte orders are available.
In particular, Cornell University has developed dairy science and is known for its delicious food, so it has the advantage of using all dairy products made at the school and being able to taste them at this restaurant.

It is a buffet that is not flashy but has everything you need.
The taste is not as fancy as in Europe, but it is simple, yet comfortable and palatable, so it is a great way to start your first morning in Ithaca.
Please note that you can tour the school at your leisure, especially if you come on the weekend.
