Waffle focused restaurant. You can get any sandwich on a waffle instead of bread. Kids loved it. Fun concept in a central location.

Ate on a Saturday, waited 30 minutes for two waffles for myself and a friend. When I got mine, they definitely weren’t worth a 30 minute wait. I found them quite underwhelming. Not enough food for someone if they’re truly hungry. The food was fine overall, just the staff was in disarray. Hope for a better experience next time.

What an amazing waffle place! The waffles here taste so delicious- they also have gluten free options!Parking might be challenging, we parked at the Downtown Ithaca: Seneca Street Garage which is 5mins walking distance.Vegetarian options: There are veggie and glutton free waffels. You can switch whatever you like.

Absolute GEM of a diner/restaurant ambiance. The fried chicken and hot maple syrup sauce delicious ! Also got Mr.Popular , S’mores waffle & the Cayuga all of which were perfection! I highly recommend !

Fantastic and busy little gem on the Commons in downtown Ithaca. The waffles are creative and delicious. Healthy smoothies to boot. Wait time was a little long but worth it in the end. Fun family spot.

The Frolic has a very interesting menu. It is easy to order savory rather that sweet. I very much enjoyed my waffle with egg, spinach, and roasted red peppers. It was very good but we all need to be cautious throwing out fives. The Waffle Frolic is basically fast food with indoor and out door eating. The menu is interesting and food good. And it is open!

Was excited about the menu and expected something a little more upscale. You order at the counter ala cart and they page you when the food is ready. Coffee was so weak I thought I was drinking colored water and waffles were mushy and flavorless. Good idea but failed to get there.

Nice place. Good options. Long line when I visited. (Online orders made people in-person wait more)

Really loved this place and so did my family (including two kids). We actually went twice in two days. Also love, love, love that they have gluten free options!Workers were very friendly. Note: place was very busy. They have cute art on walls that you can buy and there is a cute play area in center of walk way near by Incase you have a wait

This place was very busy on a Sunday morning and it was warranted. I got the Bailey and a dirty chai. I substituted the regular waffle mix for the cornbread and it was a great choice. My friend got the Florentine. Both our our meals were very, very tasty. Excellent location as well with seating inside and outside. The cons were the coworkers seemed a little uneducated on their own menu. My waffle also crumbled while eating, which could have been bc it was cornbread, so it was quite messy.

The staff at Waffle Frolic is incredibly rude. I went there this morning and was handed a buzzer; the staff said it would go off when my order was ready. As it is 85 degrees outside and we had a dog with us, we walked to the nearest shaded table, about five doors down, well within eye and earshot of the restaurant (and were given no indication that the buzzer had a limited range.) We sat waiting for our food for an hour, assuming the restaurant was busy and not wanting to bother the staff. Finally I went to check on our order. Everyone behind the counter was confrontational and indignant--despite the fact that I did not complain or criticize them for what happened. (I could not figure out why any of them felt so offended by the incident; we were the ones that had been sitting there hungry for far too long.) One guy claimed they had been "screaming" outside the door that our order was ready and triggering our buzzer. We didn't hear anything. No one around us seemed to either. When I was handed the food, both orders were cold (obviously) and one had been made incorrectly--I ordered scrambled eggs but was given over easy. When I asked if they could remake the food, everyone had their own rude comment to make. One yelled out from the kitchen, "Why didn't she just check on the food earlier?" (Because I was trying not to bother you... probably would have gotten yelled at for that too.) And then later, apparently as they were throwing out the cold eggs, one person yelled out from the kitchen so that I could hear them, "That was a beautiful veggie scramble." Another employee she would request a new order "even though it wasn't our fault." Having spent many years working in restaurants, there's no justification for this behavior. It's bizarre, combative, and unnecessary. I hope they all feel better after getting their punches out. (The food was mediocre. Definitely not worth being pummeled first thing in the morning on an empty stomach.)

The food was good (I got waffle sticks). It’s an interesting concept to order at the counter and then wait for the food. The opening hours were a little confusing- listed 8 am, told 8:30 am, left and returned and there was a line of people waiting, which is why I gave it a 4 star review. Going to return tomorrow, to try again. We’ll see how it goes!

Phenomenal waffles, including the gluten free ones, particularly with the fried chicken on top. Their maple hot sauce is outstanding, and I'm always sure to get a bottle every time I go!

Very disappointed with this restaurant. The place was very dirty and unorganized. We sat upstairs which overlooks the kitchen and checkout counter. The staff were very short with customers on multiple occasions, very rude and unprofessional. All the the tables were visibly very dirty. Nothing available to wipe them down with and no staff available to wipe them either. Food is served on disposable containers, no wait staff so you pick it up yourself and clean it up yourself. Overpriced for what you get. The garbage cans were overflowing so much it was spilling on to the floor. Bathrooms had no toilet paper and no paper towels or hand dryer. We waited over 40 minutes for 2 waffles. This place is extremely unprofessionally run and it shows. Would not recommend eating here and will not be returning.

While staying in Ithaca we decided to start our day of wine tasting by doing a bit of carb loading! Have to make sure have a good base to soak up all the wine will be consuming as day proceeded. They offer multiple vegan options and lots of toppings to choose from. They also have waffle sandwiches! So many options and so little time. This place is worth the visit while in Ithaca!!
