TL;DR: The hours of operation are incredibly frustrating.
Let me start by saying that the pastries here are excellent—my roommate has brought some home a few times, and they’re wonderful. That said, I find the hours of operation quite frustrating.
I already knew the store was closed on weekends. But I just discovered they're also closed weekday mornings (slightly ironic given the name). I had an appointment this morning and thought I’d stop by afterward to grab a croissant and cappuccino on my way into work—only to learn they don’t open until 11 AM.
With store hours limited to 11 AM–6 PM Tuesday through Friday, the shop is effectively inaccessible to much of the local community. No chance to grab a coffee and pastry before work if you're on a 9–5, nor on the weekend—and I’ve heard that if you don’t get there early, they often sell out quickly.
Jealous of those whose schedules allow them to patronize this place! Guess the rest of us are stuck with Ithaca Bakery...

The bread is excellent, super delicious. All of their other baked goods that I've tried are super yummy. The cookies are really very good, especially the sesame tahini cookies. The Pan Suisse also very delicious. All the staff here are super sweet and kind. Yes the line can be long but it's totally worth it. I find that their Instagram is a great resource for updates regarding the bakery's specials and availability.

Wide Awake is a wonderful little café and bread bakery. They have a delightful selection of breads and cookies, in an old-fashioned style. Good coffee too!
