Had dinner with 5 family/friends in March 2024. Food is OK but not to the level of previous owners/chef, but food is even more expensive - too expensive for the quality/menu now. Live music was so loud that we couldn't converse. Since then, have tried to make reservations, but their online system doesn't work and no one will even return a phone call - one gets the feeling they don't care if you come or not. Very disappointing compared to the original Forte.

Absolutely not!
This is another of those hipster trendy fusion establishments that tries to do so much and gets everything wrong.
It must have been a humdinger of a party the night before as the waitress informed me that there's only a handful of items on the menu that is actually available. She then had to confirm that with the cook in the back just what was available to order because she was seemingly not quite awake.
Prices are absolute garbage for what you get. The food is dry (chicken and waffles was a heavy breaded dry chicken breast and a waffle that was still frozen in the center, drizzled with some unknown black-in-color sauce and a thimble of syrup on the side). Now I get that this ain't the South and I'm not sure what I was thinking ordering chicken & waffles from anywhere North of the Mason Dixon line... but it was the only thing that seemed somewhat decent on the menu that wasn't trying to smash together North Korean and Sudan culinary amalgamation, or whatever it is they are trying to do there. Instead what they served couldn't even be considered palatable food.
The waitress must have just woken up from one heck of a bender the night before and still stank of weed and booze and whatever else she had going on into the middle of the night. When she wasn't wandering around to see if water needed to be refilled, she was nearly passed out at the bar on one of the stools for patrons. I felt like I was in a movie or an episode of hidden camera pranks. Sad. Get it together, pls.
And to top it all off, they have the audacity to charge a "kitchen fee" of 1.5%. What the actual ....?! I was fed up with this place. I can't understand how anyone eats here.

Do not go in with the expectations of experiencing the pre COVID Forte. Very disappointed. Really hoping that the new owner can up their game (in the kitchen) and match the experience we have all grown to love. Edit: The sushi tasted and looked like it was made in a grocery store :(

We had dinner at Gorte last week to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The food for all 4 of us was delicious. The drinks we ordered were unique and delicious as well. The service was great and the ambiance is perfect for a small, intimate group. I highly recommend Forte!

Forte is not what it used to be. Though I now live in DC, I stopped in because this used to be my favorite restaurant in Jamestown. First of all, the prices are DC prices. This cannot be sustained in Jamestown for long. The white rice that came with our meals was flavorless and cold. The meals were okay, but not for that price in Jamestown. I will say our server was very nice and attentive. The remodel makes it cold and unwelcoming. It was a vibrant atmospheric restaurant before. The floors and walls were dirty. The restaurant was barren during dinner time. The once favorite steak and beer special is now $25 and you’re limited to PBR or Phin and Matt’s. I will not be back, unfortunately.

The fish of the day was salty and it came with extremely plain cold rice and unseasoned and uncooked/unmassaged kale that was inedible.

The staff were all friendly and warm, however that’s where the warmth ended. Our appetizer came out (literally) 1 minute after we ordered and was cold. The salad was over dressed yet still flavorless. The gnocchi was ok. Everything was overpriced.

Food was not good at all , we left there and had to grab a burger , extremely over priced for mediocre food , $45 for a extremely tiny piece of steak after eating there we were told new owners so we didn’t get to experience what food used to be that was reason why we tried it , never again

Used to love forte but it’s not what it used to be. It seems like the new owners don’t care as much about the cuisine forte is known for. Would like to see some of the old menu make a comeback, as we have been a few times since the reopening and it just doesn’t taste as good as it used to.
Excellent menu and cocktail selection.
