The Fat Lady Cafe

We were looking for lakeside dining, and found the Fat Lady Cafe online. Took a chance, and were so pleasantly surprised! Charming small cafe with out door tables - perfect for our group of family & friends. Service was a bit slow, but very friendly & helpful. Atmosphere was relaxing & comfortable. Menu was interesting, with something for our vegetarian friends and picky children. Food was excellent! Only complaints: Parking was along the road and we had to walk a good ways,, and they do not serve cappuccino! Prices were reasonable. We definitely recommend!

Stay away!!Most horrible place our family went. Waited 2 hrs for our food it was cold . They did nothing!! Waited on drinks. Needless to say $176 bill food sucked never will go there again.

My wife and I stopped here for lunch this past Friday, August 6, 2021, after visiting the Museum at Bethel Woods. We purposely selected the Fat Lady Cafe because of its location (on the lake, its close proximity to the museum and the reviews we had read here. We were seated immediately on the rear porch and we were not disappointed by the view of the lake. Sadly we can't say the same thing regarding the food. We both decided to have the corned beef, mine as a Reuben and my wife's with mustard as described on the menu. Our server informed us that they were out of corned beef so we opted for the pastrami prepared the same way. After about 30 minutes our food finally arrived. You could tell the toasted rye bread was stale, there was no mustard on the sandwich and both had only 3 pieces of meat on each sandwich and the french fries were barely warm. I don't know if we just came on an off day, but again a disappointment. To sum it up the view is wonderful, the service is slow and the sandwiches and the value for what yo get is poor. We cannot recommend this restaurant.

Great food with great service. The Cafe is beautiful with a gorgeous lake view. The owner and her family are very warm and welcoming people. I can't wait to try their dinner menue next time.

Was extraordinary moment's, sitting eating and overlooking the lake my sister and her acquaintance, I do enjoyed myself

Sat on the deck overlooking the lake on a busy Saturday night. Service was a little spotty. We enjoyed the hanger steak sandwich and fish tacos (sauce could be a little more tangy on those). Delicious fruit crumble with ice cream was more than enough to share!

Absolutely fresh Brook Trout. Best flounder I’ve had in years. Reasonable prices. And the view! I found everything to be done with love and care, and the service was excellent. Highly recommended.

It was awesome at this place last night, the staff were great service excellent food delicious. And the owner Judy really knows how to do it right. An amazing job done right again by Judy her daughter and all staff thanks for a great meal and time.

Was just there with neighbors for the dinner and fireworks. They ran out of food on the buffet(after some people went up for seconds)so it definitely wasn’t worth the $58 plus tax and tip Will not go back.

The location,on the lake was WONDERFUL. The staff worked tirelessly, the lovely weather brought out a lot of customers. It was a chore keeping up with the orders

Great food and atmosphere. Service was slow. But we knew that going in, Judy and staff does a great job.

The place has changed. It has gone down hill. My order was total screwed up. Never go my drink orders. My glass and silverware was dirty. Wanted to place another order but was total the kitchen was closed as of 4 pm.

Met for lunch, food was good and the atmosphere was nice…….If in the area again would be back
