Disappointing. Compared to the last time I was there the food and service was a little disappointing. The service felt extremely rushed, even though the restaurant was not full at all. We were looking to really enjoy the evening yet we felt as if the waiter was trying to rush us out the door. My wife and I had dinner at Caldwell House with another couple and as usual, the food was delicious. My wife had the salmon, I had the oso buco, and our friends had the stuffed shrimp and the Caldwell Bleu. Again, all was delicious and the portions were perfect. I do have 1 complaint and that is the owner decided to stop serving the cheese and crackers which has been a staple of the restaurant for years. It was sorely missed and we request that he reconsider and start serving...
Our waitress, Angela, was very attentive and a pleasure to have as a server. My wife had the prime rib and really enjoyed it. I had the Chicken Caldwell Blue which was delicious. Caldwell House is one of our favorite restaurants near Lake George. You will not be disappointed.
