Lovely restaurant with tons of food/drinks/appetizer options. Located right down the road from several tubing/water rafting places—perfect place to stop before or after. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. Food was excellent. Cleanest restaurant bathrooms I’ve seen in years! Must visit.

We had such a nice experience here on our first day in the lake George area. The food is delicious. My husband and son got the mac and cheese with pulled pork. They said it was delicious. I got the cheeseboard to share and it did not disappoint. Nice ambiance and friendly service. A must visit if you are in the area.

Food was great, some more unique items that aren't available in the more touristy restaurants in the area - poutine, shrimp cakes, etc. The cheese is all delicious and can be purchased in the store next to the restaurant. If you have a chance, check out the Kemp Sanctuary which is affiliated with the restaurant.

My husband and I went here specifically to try the cheese board and we were able to add on additional cheeses samples to be able to taste as many as we could. I was incredibly blown away by how well curated the selection of cheeses and pairings. We had a really great time finding favorite pairings of cheeses with different toppings. You should really try the lavender and honey cheese on a baguette with a slice of strawberry and some honey drizzled on top. We wound up taking our leftovers home and went to their gift shop to buy some additional supplies to have a picnic for the next day. I highly recommend trying that if you can't finish it all in one sitting. What a wonderful time with very friendly and attentive staff.

I've loved Nettle Meadow cheeses for years, and often stop in to The Hitching Post to stock up but rarely spend the time to eat there. Last night my husband and I stopped in on our way home from a trip and it was just lovely. We ate at the bar and the service as tremendous - Chrissy was very attentive and fun. The bonus was that she told us our dog was welcome and they even have a menu for him! The soups were delicious and my husband really like his Buckaroo!

Love stopping in to shop for the award winning Nettle Meadow cheese and then having a bite or full meal at The Hitching Post. The food is very good!, and, of course, incorporates their amazing cheese; the staff is so very warm and welcoming; I love the log building and it's history; and the fact that they not only welcome dogs but have a menu just for dogs makes this restaurant a home run for me!

Ordered take out and ordered fish and chips, arancini and a shepherd's pie. The shepherds pie was good. The arancini itself was good but the shredded lettuce it was served on was brown and did not make for an appetizing presentation. The fish in the fish and chips was crispy and not oily and was very tasty. The fries were soft and greasy. I asked for extra tartar sauce and not only did they not give extra tartar sauce, none was included. The Cole slaw was grey and unappealing. We have eaten at the tavern and the food was always good however, this take out order fell short and I would probably not order take out from there again.

WOW! Went in on a Saturday afternoon to a quick bite to eat, ended up trying the Champion cheese board. First off, the staff were super welcoming and friendly (with great beer recommendations)! The cheese board was out of this world! We were blown away by the size and selection. Definitely worth your money!! Can’t wait to come back!
