I couldn't say anything bad about this place if I tried. Family run and the cutest little sandwich/candy shop. The woman running the place knew everyone's name that came in which was so nice and showed she really cared. I ordered a sandwich and she kindly told me it's the "us" like usual. So I had a usual with Swiss and it was delicious. Topped it with hot sauce and mmmm. It was really a perfect sandwich. My boyfriend got a BEC with spk on a roll which was also great! We'll definitely be back here. They also have all sorts of different candies which is worth checking out even without breakfast.

If you look in the dictionary under "Hidden Gem" (alright, Wikipedia...it is the 21st Century), you will see a picture of this place. It sits on a narrow one way street that starts off another one way street that runs along the railroad tracks (or is it I-95?) and, well never mind. Use your GPS and walk here. It kinda looks like a throwback to the candy stores of my youth. The only thing missing is the comic book rack. A whole wall full of candy. This place might be funded the local dentist. Anyway, they have a small counter where you can eat the amazing variety of sandwiches, wraps and salads that they crank out of the tiny kitchen. I have always taken my lunch to go. So if you are the adventurous type, try and find the East Ave Cafe enjoy yourself!

Love this neighborhood spot! My friends thought I was going for candy bc they didn't realize they have a huge menu of breakfast and lunch items! Gail and Dave are great and friendly - yes even Dave - and they have a huge range of fun candy for gifts. But the food is made to order and so good and fresh. Definitely stop by!

I love East Ave. Cafe - Dave and Gail are very friendly, Dave's an excellent cook. I go there, eat a nice breakfast or lunch, read the paper, and I'm totally comfortable. Can't say enough about the place, it's just a great eating/meeting spot!
