We don't live in the area, but over the years whenever we're passing through we make sure to stop-in for a meal. As the name says, this is a Diner, and a half-century ago when such establishments were common that wouldn't have needed any explanation. The establishment is family-run and very reasonably priced, sometimes things take a little longer to get to the table, but that's because they have a large menu and make things fresh. Breakfast is always cooked to order, lunch specials include a hot or cold beverage and house-made rice or bread pudding, with whipped topping at no additional charge, while at dinner dishes like their beef brisket and pot roast are classics, again accompanied by generous sides including their house-made chicken soup, which seems to have a different pasta in it on each visit, but is consistently good. The facilities are clean, there are booths and a counter in the main room, and plenty of tables in the large side room, while a rotating case displays their desert cakes, a slice of which is included with their dinner specials. I know they do take-out, but I've never tried it, part of the point of a diner is to dine there and eat the food while it's hot! We've been there often enough to spot the regulars, and while we don't always agree with their politics, we leave such matters aside and enjoy the food and service, both of which are worth a detour!

One of my favorite places to eat. Food is always good. They have tons of options also. Pretty reasonable prices. Their cheesecake is one of the best. Sometimes customer service isn’t always that friendly, hit or miss. Place is clean and little outdated. Recommend this placeParking: Usually plenty of parking, if it’s a super busy night you might have troubles

Food was delicious and the portions were huge, large variety of dishes to suit all, kids menu was wonderful offering alot of options at a great price, service was excellent my only problem was I didn't realize that they charged a fee for using your credit card and when I asked they said there was sign at the register, I never been to a place where I was charged for using my card and I ve worked in the restaurant buisness for 20 plus years and never charged a customer credit card fee and if I had to I would definitely make sure they were verbally aware, other than that excellent!

We were traveling and found this diner. AMAZING service by a wonderful waitress who called each of us "Luv," delicious food (3 of us had the deluxe burger and fries, and one had an omelette with fries). The fries were perfectly cooked--crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, just the right amount of salt. The burgers were juicy on a toasted bun, and so flavorful. The omelette was creamy and perfect. I wish we lived closer so we could enjoy this fabulous diner more often!

Ive never had a problem with the diner until i was served raw calamari. I ordered a calamari salad and it was completely raw. I ordered through doordash and when i contacted them asking for a refund i was given no response. Never ordering from here again after

Hey everyone!!! The Liberty diner is back!!!!! (Not that it ever physically went anywhere but for a short time the quality did). Ive been coming here for over 28 years now and I'm very happy to update my reviews of the famous Liberty diner. A Catskills landmark besides the good ole Miss Monticello Diner. Apparently their old chef is back. So now the ribs, the chicken, and the fries are all delicious once again. Something to look forward to when I'm in town. I just wish they would bring back the salad bar one day but I'll still eat here either way. Easy access from Rt. 17 exit 100 at the end of the exit ramp.

The waiter has been quite rude to us just for making him go get splenda for the coffee... he gave us a choice, either go for the Splenda. or take our order, to which I responded, go and get the splenda... ..so he brought the splenda and left, leaving us waiting eternally to punish us... we asked for the attention of another waitress... everything was perfect with her.Wheelchair accessibility: Very accesible

I’ve been here a few times, the food is good and the owners are always so friendly. But i came in today and the waiter Miguel was no good.He didnt check in on me once but I watched him check every other table around me. The nice busser offered me a refill, he did not even when he came to clear my plate. Then dropped me my check without asking meHow my food was or offering me anything else.I have been a server and bartender a long time and the service was really bad and unfriendly even by diner standards. Kind of ruined my experience :/I still left 20% tip because i’m in the business, but teach him how to treat guests with hospitality.
