Food was better than we expected. LONG line, be prepared to wait at least 20 minutes. They're good at handling a long line though so it's not that bad, but just be prepared. Have someone in your party sit at a table until the food is ready! Ambience is very cute and you can feel the history of the place. Good location, you can eat there or take your meal across the street to the park. Pricey, but the food is good and you're paying for nostalgia/notoriety. Wish they didn't charge for sauerkraut; for the prices they're asking, we found that to be a little petty.

It's not the same anymore not worth the money the hot dogs are much smaller and the buns are even smaller to make it appear that the hotdogs are bigger like they use to be your better off cooking your own!

Sooo good we were back in just a few days. The Herring with pickles and onions was only topped by the perfectly crispy fried fish. Highly recommend you give them a try.

Prices have gone through the roof. Hot dogs are very expensive. You could buy a package for cheaper. Nicole & dime you for everything. Not impressed with them at all.

Heid's is always delicious. It has an old school ambiance and the employees are always friendly. I love that they have birch beer, as few restaurants in the area do. If you're looking for a unique culinary experience, heids isn't the place for you but if you want a classic hot dog and fries it's perfect!

Hot dogs + fries are great!!! Staff was friendly when ordering and asking questions about menu. I love the old time diner feel, it's been a fun place to stop with friends for a quick bite, but I've also spent several hours hanging with friends here over our food :') wish it was a lil cheaper, but the experience makes it worth it

Same ol' Heid's. Hot dogs and conies. The ice cream is above average. Every time a relative comes to visit, they want to go to Heid's, so we do. Probably of their younger days.

The food was marginally okay but definitely not worth the price charged. Had a hot dog and small chocolate milk and it was $7.50 ! 4.95 for a hot dog…..you got to be kidding me! Place is not even close to what it was a few years ago. Won’t be going back

If you want the "Heid's" experience of a hot dog or "white hot" come on in. Hot dogs are bun length(split top buns) with many options. The regular toppings of onion, relish, brown mustard, and ketchup are available in the seating area. French fries, Mac & cheese, chips and fountain drinks. I always loved my hot dog with chocolate milk from Byrne Dairy. Unfortunately they no longer offer that option but do have Intense chocolate milk that tastes like a cross between cheap chocolate milk and Yoo-hoo. Inside seating is available. Service is quick. The cost for two hot dogs a bag of chips, 12oz. Chocolate milk and a small fountain drink was $18.33.

Reliable local hot dog joint. Been around for decades and there's a reason for that. We love stopping in after a walk at the park for a red hot or white hot, and Hoffmann really are the best hot dogs I've ever had. Over the years they have expanded the menu and have cheesesteaks, sausage & peppers, and French Fries as well as other fried sides and appetizers. Food is consistent and I've never had a bad experience here. Service is always fast so don't let the long lines scare you, lol.

Whenever I’m in a strange town I ask any friends who might know where is an iconic local food place. My friend told me about this place and it didn’t disappoint. No frill, just straight up great food and fantastic service. I’ll be coming back for sure.

confusing parking lot when it's dark out since there's barely any lighting in the parking lot. ice cream was very good, but a very small selection. glad i got to try it before winter begun!

In 1982, Heid's of Liverpool opened an ice cream parlor next to its famous 1939 art deco restaurant. A fun way to finish off a meal of comfort food at the restaurant is to stop next door for some ice cream.

What a gem! Great classic hot dogs with a nice snap. Dress-it-yourself condiments included both dill relish AND bright green sweet relish, onions, 2 kinds of mustard and ketchup. The fries were fantastic. Double fried (?) with a nice crunch on the outside.
