Typically go to the food trucks downtown for lunch on Friday and breakfast happens to be my favorite meal of the day. Coworkers were talking about getting pizza, when I mentioned getting pancakes from this truck a few followed suit. I’d like to start by saying that the proprietors of Hughie’s were friendly and happy to explain their menu options. I was offered a sample of their legendary pancake sauce without asking to try it. We were not planning on eating brinner tonight but after sampling their sauce we were sold- buttery and sweet without being too sweet (I would have bought a jar to bring home if they sold it!). The hotcakes were cooked perfectly - so fluffy! And the sauce was perfect for dipping the bacon in, too! The owners were so friendly and funny. Definitely recommend.
Starting with bacon grease for the hit cakes, bacon and cubed potatoes cooked to perfection and then just when you thought that was all here comes the signature syrup, the owner said it’s a grandmas secret recipe and you know grandma always knows what’s best.. simply delicious and a pleasure to eat.
