Frank is one of the best people I’ve ever met. He treats everyone like family, and it shows in the amazing food, service, and atmosphere at The River Mill Tavern. Always a great experience here! Hands down best restaurant in the Lynnbrook area!

The team from River Mill has fed our team multiple meals and it has all been delicious! The owner is absolutely amazing and the staff was all friendly with great service!
Really enjoyed it, sat outside on a 70 degree night and really just got the day so well. Varied menu perfect for a night when you may not be sure what you want, local, and feels like a hidden gem despite the quality. Had a pizza app, baked clams, steak tidbits, and pork chop. Draft selection was also above average

The pretzel appetizer was great and a hit with my children. The sauce it came with was cheesy, great marinara and pepperoni (cheesy as in full of cheese deliciousness), at least I liked it. My two kids (one is under 3, another is under 10). The fries and mozzarella sticks were good nothing too much to remark about.
The braised beef sandwich I had was was good overall. Two comments on it: First, it was slightly too much sauce (would have been good to have the additional sauce on the side), but only because it made the bread soggy. I was OK in the beginning of the meal, but as dinner progressed, the bread was a bit soggy. It was still good overall. Second, it was slightly over salted (more on this next). If you order this, I would recommend asking for a little less salt. You can always add more if needed.
My wife ordered the Filet Mignon as this was a splurge dinner date with the kids. This dish was much more salted and the beef was dry on the inside. Definitely not what I would expect, especially at the price point. My wife had about three or four bites and asked me what I thought. I did find it a bit salty, so I drank some water to somewhat cleanse my mouth and also found it overly salty. My wife sent the dish back after the waiter asked if everything was OK (I can't think of any other time in over 14 years that she's done this). She did not order something else. I'm sure it would have been an excellent dish except it was significantly over seasoned.
I am giving an overall rating of four stars because of how the restaurant handled the situation. When I received the bill, I asked that her dish be removed from the tab since she barely touched it. After I asked that it be removed, our server consulted with someone else in the restaurant and it was removed without additional question or discussion.
This is a family oriented restaurant. We were seated outside along with several other families with small children. We asked uf they had paper and crayons, but was told 'no.' We ended up giving our nearly three year old a quick Bluey episode until appetizers came out, if anything to avoid a potential meltdown. If anyone from the restaurant reads this, please have crayons and paper available in case parents ask. We do not have electronic devices at our dining table at home, nor do we have them when outside our home.
Although both of our main entrees were over salted (one of which we had to return), my wife and I agreed that would dine here again. Since the restaurant removed the item from our tab without additional question. Although our entrees were over seasoned, we did not leave with a salty taste.

To say our visit was subpar would be an understatement for the price we paid, and they are quite pricey. The waitress was less than friendly, couldn’t have made it more obvious she didn’t want us there.. and we were there at 730, an hour and a half before closing time. The food/drinks were mediocre at best. The big pretzel with cheese sauce was gross… the cheese sauce was basically ricotta mixed with pasta sauce with two pepperoni slices in the middle and the texture gave curdled vibes. The baked clams came soaked in a flavorless liquid, while the clams themselves had zero flavor and couldn’t have been more soggy and unbaked. The sangria “slush” for $15 was basically just crushed iced with a splash of wine. So disappointing… and we had such high hopes.
This is definitely a great local spot to check out. The vibe is laid-back but with a cool, inviting atmosphere. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure we were well taken care of.
The menu had a good variety, and the food was solid. While it wasn't the best meal I've ever had, it was definitely above average for the price and portion sizes.
It's the kind of place where you feel like you're supporting a true local gem. I'd recommend it if you're looking for a relaxed place to grab a bite and enjoy a good meal without any fuss.

Our team, Hungry Heroes was in NY to serve food to 500 first responders during the 9-11 memorial week.
Frank from River Mill Tavern and Tables kept our team of 10 fed breakfast and dinner the entire time. The food was nothing short of amazing. The hospitality Frank showed us as strangers in the Lynbrook community was truly off the hook. Frank did evening more by donating needed supplies and equipment as well. He is truly a humble and giving soul. Frank's kindness made serving in an area totally unfamiliar to us so much less stressful. He was there to help in any way with absolutely anything we needed. It was truly a pleasure and an honor to meet Frank who made sure we felt right at home the entire time.
Can't wait until next year!
Please accept our sincere thanks from the entire Hungry Heroes team.

I recently dined at The River Mill, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The food was outstanding, with a diverse menu that beautifully balanced innovation and tradition. Each dish was prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients and presented with a flair that enhanced the dining experience.
The real highlight, however, was the attentive and knowledgeable wait staff. They were incredibly friendly, providing prompt service while offering insightful recommendations that made our meal even more enjoyable. Their professionalism and genuine enthusiasm added a personal touch that made the evening truly memorable.
Overall, The River Mill delivers a top-notch dining experience, thanks to its superb cuisine and exceptional service. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy a remarkable meal in a welcoming atmosphere.
