Horrible food and service we were starving and there was nothing else around should have paid and left food was disgusting
Brunch at Hosler's I drove from Montpelier Vt for bunch with a friend .Short of staff. Most tables not bused.Poor waitress service. I ordered the Eggs Benedict . omg worst ever ... forever to come to the table . I ordered fruit in stead of homefries . The egg it self was cooked good , but the ham was super salty and the whole meal was drowning in the huge greasy sauce. The fruit was served in a small bowl with canned peaches & shoved on the plate into this sauce. The bathroom was filthy . I realize we have the Covid issues and there is a shortage of help . I do believe people paying for a meal should have a better experience than this Don't stop here to eat ... run Absolutely gross V Grappone
I met a cousin that I had not seen in 17 years! We talked on the phone but had not been together. She was in a part of NY that was 3 hours away. We decided to meet at this restaurant. What a wonderful decision! My cousin has had many severe health issues and needed to eat outside, and the rain stopped 10 minutes arrived. I went in and asked if we could eat outside, and they said sure! We were seated outside, by the friendless waitress! She was kind, helpful, and so very cute! We arrived at 1:15, and left at 5:45! The waitress was so accommodating, filled our water glasses and offered coffee through the afternoon! The food was delicious, hot when it arrived, and such a wonderful afternoon! I will never forget the kindness of the waitress!
In town to visit my elderly lunch and we brought her here per her recommendation. It’s not like Malone has a ton of places to choose from. The place seemed clean and newly renovated. We spotted a photo of Robert Irvine on the wall and thought “cool, this place was on Restaurant Impossible”. We should have known better. Apparently the owners saw him in NYC. Anyway, the food was ok. The service was slightly above average. On the plus side are the sandwich’s protein size, lumpy mashed potatoes with gravy and hand cut fries. But the minuses include the canned peas, salty soup, and mushy mushrooms. Definitely need fresh produce other than salad. The mozzarella stir were ok but stayed in the fryer too long cause the cheese had all disappeared. I would maybe try it again and order something different. But only if I have to.
The dining room is nicely revamped and clean. That does not hide the fact that the bathrooms and entryway have not been cleaned in a month of Sundays. The chicken parm was a disappointment. The spaghetti was overcooked. The sauce was a meat sauce instead of the traditional marinara you would expect on a chicken dish. (Probably a lazy cook who uses the same sauce for every italian dish they serve.) The sauce was oddly spicy (like they used jalapeños) yet bland at the same time. There was a pool of water at the bottom of the dish. There were burnt peices of sauce crust from the sides of the pan it was cooked in right on top of the dish when it was served and no one had enough quality control not to serve it that way. The garlic bread was greasy and salty. I can only assume that the cook used garlic salt instead of garlic when making it.
