I was excited to stop by this bakery since we’re new in town. The pastries looked delicious and the shop itself is very cute. Unfortunately, my experience with one of the staff members completely changed my impression, and I won’t be returning.
There was an older man with dark hair who was very passive-aggressive and rude. If a customer takes a little time deciding what to order, it would be much more helpful to suggest a few items rather than asking, “Are you done yet?” in a frustrated tone. At one point, I was in the middle of saying which pastry I wanted, and he walked away even though he could clearly hear me.
The staff member who helped me afterward at the front counter was kind, and I appreciated that. However, the earlier interaction left a very negative impression and made the visit uncomfortable. I also noticed that a similar interaction was mentioned in another review, which is disappointing to see. I hope the bakery addresses this, because the space and pastries seemed promising.

UPDATE: While I have yet to revisit the cafe, I was contacted by a manager with a very thoughtful and genuine offer to make up for our disappointing experience. The folks over at Buttercooky seem to care, and that most certainly makes a difference! Looking forward to giving it another shot.
This review is for the cafe only … Love the bakery and decided to try the cafe today for a take out order. I’ll keep it short: my tiny $19 salad was mostly cabbage ribs, the bread on my $19 pressed sandwich was burnt. I thought this could be a new go-to for sandwiches and salads since my preferred place is right around the same price point, but we did not find the same quality that we enjoy at the bakery. Would have shown a manager had I not taken the food to go.

Young fellas doing a good job. But lady by the front ignoring people she don’t seem to like
Edit: Interesting how other POC reviews have trouble with this cafe 👀
ORIGINAL:
seems like a copycat of an asian bakery. Should just keep the same style as the queens one.
Service is like 😐 can I get you anything? 🤨 no we’re sold out. Line is disorganized. Wait long and I get skipped over for help cuz I’m not white. I think these guys are overworked and done with their jobs or maybe the ppl they have to help i feel bad.
Pastries fantastic, sandwiches are great. Wish there were more vegan varieties but hey its a pastry shop, so happy there’s some food there as an option 🩵
Cakes are great but when ordering one if advance the price doesn’t really match, it lowkey breaks the bank and you can find so many bakers making great quality cakes with beautiful presentation. I think they need to work on their pricing quotas. Not worth it esp if its ur grad, wedding, birthday cake.

Generally a good enough bakery with a wide variety of options; however, they have this one man that works there that ruins the experience. He looks to be around early 40’s, dark hair and chubby. He is passive aggressive and not customer service oriented at all. Everyone else who works there is great. I get stressed out when I know he is going to be helping me. Will be going to Fern and Aurora.

Okay. So dropped in today since it was “recommended” here is what my opinion is.
The atmosphere the staff top notch along with my cappuccino and regular black coffee. I will not take away from that.
I bought 4 pastries.
The pistachio with cream bun looking item.
It was my favourite of the four and id give it 4/5.
The honey comb peach in my opinion should not have almond in it for it takes away from the taste of the peach and pastry tasted synthetic. 1/5
The banana monkey bread looking pastry was okay minus almond once again, gave it a THC taste and felt like im eating and edible. 1/5
Last but not least the triple chocolate croissant was okay, too sweet for me and im a chocolate fan. 3/5
Overall this is my review , not to take away from your or anyone elses experience. Location, atmosphere, staff and everything looks so great. Just not for me.
I still give it 5 stars for it is worth a try. Goodluck

Great spot to grab fresh pastries complimented by outstanding service. The baked goods are fresh throughout the day which is hard to find. Each and every time I’ve come here I’ve been satisfied with the breakfast menu and of course the pastries, specifically the red velvet and key lime pie.

We were looking for holiday gifts for business clients and wanted to "lift up local" and support a bakery in our town. Luckily, we decided to try a sample of their merchandise before buying gift certificates and baked goods and putting them in baskets. The service was beyond bad and the cookies were dry. Is SAND one of the ingredients? I guess I should have read the reviews here on Trip Advisor before bothering.
Great place, great pastries!

Love this local shop and the La Colombe coffee. They’re open late on Saturday’s in case you need to grab a cake or cookies last minute!
