Last night hubby and I went to La Coquille to celebrate our anniversary. I ordered rack of lamb (most expensive entree on menu) and he had halibut. Food was good, so no complaint about that. We had an aperitif and wanted to order two glasses of wine with dinner. Last visit we had a great Bordeaux recommended by our waiter, so we wanted to order that again. We told the waiter, or someone on staff, we wanted to order 2 glasses of wine. He looked puzzled. NOBODY CAME TO OUR TABLE DURING THE ENTIRE MEAL! I tried to get the attention of any staff member passing by, but we were ignored. We had no wine with dinner. There's more. After the meal, I wanted to take my leftovers home. I asked the waiter to pack it up for me. He removed the plate and never returned. At that point I knew I would never see my food again. I asked our waiter (not sure what he was, but he was a burly brute of a guy) for the check along with leftovers and he proceeded to say something to this effect: "Don't disrespect me again because I won't do anything for you." I may be paraphrasing, but I was so stunned, I can't recall his exact words. We didn't eat our dessert because we knew we had to leave fast. It should be noted that we are willing to spend money at a nice establishment with the expectation of having a good meal. We eat out regularly, but we have NEVER been ignored and abused like we were last night! Such a pity since we enjoyed our first visit here and we had plans to bring guests here after our daughter's wedding. Note to owner: You need to be in control of your wait staff. The treatment we received was disgraceful! This waiter was a bullying brute! I'm sure you know who I'm talking about. I agree with Robert G.'s assessment about the arrogance of staff, but I think that's too kind. Staff was disgusting! I was extremely upset when I got home. Ugh, makes me sick just thinking about it!

Called to book a Saturday last minute and asked if they had a table right now and will be there in 5-10 minutes. They confirmed they had a table for me. Get there and put coats in coat check. Ask for table and was told manager gave away my table. Asked for coats to leave. The nice lady that took my reservation tells the manager. He doesn’t apologize I see we are leaving. He says will buy you drinks table in 15 minutes. We stay he never buys drinks. We eat meal and yrs food was delicious. I get the bill and seems quite expensive as we had 1 glass wine no coffee or desert. I usually don’t look at bill and just tip. I see there’s 3 deserts and an expresso I go tell manager, he says yes 3 deserts are too much for 2 people, while I told him we didn’t have desert. My waiter takes bill and comes back and says that the deserts were from someone that ate at my table the night before. Manager says not his fault no apology no accommodation.
The food here is excellent and the portions good sized. They offer specials in addition to the regular menu. Soup of the day is always good. The fish entrees are fresh and delicious. We shared a bottle of white wine which was very good. Service is excellent, and prices are in keeping with an upscale restaurant. Located in a mini strip mall, there is adequate parking in front and in rear of the restaurant. Highly recommend!

I have been an infrequent visitor to La Coquille for as long as I can remember. I planned a return for my birthday but had second thoughts because of some reviews. Apparently the chef had changed. I went anyway and do not regret it for a second. I started with the beet salad which was fresh and delicious. I then moved on to the rack of lamb which was the best I have ever had. My wife chose their specialty which is the duck a l’orange. It was also spectacular. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. We did go early so we did not have to contend with the crowds. Suffice it to say, we will not wait that long to return.
