AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST… Since the new owner took over, this place has gone downhill. The food is NOT REAL INDIAN FOOD. What we ordered seemed like frozen food re-heated and the portions have completely diminished. The tiki masala looked like fake blood and only had 4 pieces of small cubed chicken. Not to mention the service is horrible, they will argue with you for complaining about the lack of ingredients - hardly any meat in their dishes - and the bland, frozen taste. We couldn’t even eat it coz it was that gross to look at. Don’t waste your money or time... you will only get unappealing food and bad service.

The food was delicious! The appetizers were amazing. The manager was really nice and friendly. I recommend getting the chicken pakora, chow mein and you can not skip on the mango lassi. It was worth every bite.

This place used to be my goto for takeout. No idea what happened. Their chef became lazy and started giving me tikka masala sauce with out cooking. Its raw and bland for the last 3 times. They changed their biryani style, not impressed mate. Old one is better. Next time please dont put sauce directly from freezer to microwave Owen then into boxes, put some effort in cooking it and seasoning it properly before filling. Thank you. I dont think iam coming back after consecutive terrible experiences. Those two stars are for old spice kitchen.

We have been ordering food from here for years and the food is not even close to what it used to be. The tikka masala is all tomato sauce, the goat curry was all bones and no meat and didn't even have the taste of the typical curry. We got delivery through the restaurant and the food wasn't even hot and it was barely warm. We used to love ordering from here and used to order at least once a week and unfortunately we will probably not be ordering from here again. We called them to let them know and the response back from the woman was basically saying there is nothing she could do for us as it was to cold to send out the delivery guy which I understand but then after that told me she will take the information back to the chef. That won't change the fact that the entire order wasn't even good. Sadly Spice Kitchen isn't good anymore. It's time to find a new indian restaurant in the area.

Very disappointed. Have eaten here MANY times with my wife and never have been disappointed. Today Sunday 11/13/22, we got take out. I got the chicken Makhini. Wife got the chicken vindalo. We also ordered cheese naan. First off, the cheese naan was definitely not a cheese naan. Tasted horrible. My chicken makhini tasted like it was just tomato sauce from a pizza. Wifes vindalo color looked horrible. It did not taste good at all. Very disappointed as this was my go to spot for indian halal food. Not sure whats going, maybe nee chef or new management. Whatever it is, you guys will lose customers until it gets fixed. 1 star until it gets fixed. If you guys got a new chef, you guys made a big mistake!!!!

Spice Kitchen is under new ownership, and I found this out the hard way. Fellow Yelper, hope you read this review in time before you put in that $55+ order. 1) Their Malai Kofta now is a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT DISHES. I saw in another Google review that someone else also had this experience. They are shockingly different. 2) The chicken tikka masala tonight tasted like it was floating in Campbell's tomato soup. The consistency and flavor were literally the same as canned soup. 3) The chicken is hard and chewy, as if it had been frozen. 4) The samosas were absolutely disgusting and smelled like an old freezer. 5) The cilantro chutney was horrible and tasted nothing like cilantro chutney the two times we've ordered before from here. Indian takeout is expensive (often over $50 for two people), and wasting money on food with this level of inconsistency is unacceptable. The new owners knew this and purposely duped Spice Kitchen's old customers. I never leave one star reviews, but this one sent me. Goodnight y'all, hope you go out of business.

I traveled all the way from jersey to get my regular Indian cuisine. What a disappointment! I used to come here all the time. As I read through the comments I see this place is under new ownership, that explains why. The chicken tikka masala tastes like something you buy frozen. They should’ve kept the same cook! Terrible food, I didn’t even eat it. Threw the whole order away, waste of $40.

Came back after the new owner took over. Food was delicious. We ordered the lunch specials (chicken and veg). We found the curries to be less oily, unlike other curry joints. The spices and salt in the curries were perfect! Would definitely come back again!

The Resturant is very nice, friendly staff. The food is very delicious. my mother loves the food so much that she wants to come back again. I recommend everyone to visit this restaurant and give a try. No doubt five star for the Resturant and staf !! Thank you for the great service!!

Bad reviews are correct! I don't do reviews but this place needs one and this place will get a real bad one that reflects their bad food and service. We ordered over $65 worth of food and was surprised at how awful they were compared to how it used to be. The food was so different and definitely not real Indian food. Our samosa was cold inside and what seemed to be stuffed frozen ingredients. We also ordered vindaloo and in my many experiences eating that dish, it had never looked the way I received it from this place. And the meat was almost to nothing. Shame on the new people who has taken over. This business will not last because no one would want to eat here and their service is awful. They kept putting us on hold. No wonder there are nothing but 1 star reviews lately. No star from me at all. Will never order from here anymore.

All of the other recent reviews said the same thing I will - they've clearly changed chefs and/or ownership. This used to be the place I always looked forward to, but now it's just not good. Sad, because it used to be amazing!

Coming to Spice a while now, few times was disappointed. Portion sizes have drastically changed over the year , and okay I get it- COVID times, supply chain, etc. But now the flavors are all off, ingredients are off, the meat portions are tinier , the fricking shrimp is aweful. I'm so done, I kept saying I was done , but I'm really done this time. Can't pay $20 for a shrimp biriyani that's a very very tiny portion (1/3 the normal size) and the shrimp is small and disgusting- not fresh, dried and rank. No thanks.

I have been getting food from this location for almost 4 years now and I had always been satisfied. I hadn't ordered here in the recent few months so I decided to get something to celebrate my Friday evening. So I ordered a chicken biryani. But to my surprise, it's nothing like what I had before. As a matter of fact, it doesn't even taste like chicken biryani. It was basically saltless rice fried in excessive oil and they didn't even use boneless chicken. If I didn't know any better, I would have thought this was made by a rookie. I'm extremely disappointed by this and I'm probably never going to order from here ever again. Another thing I forgot to mention was this place used to offer free delivery with a minimum order of $10.99 or something but now it's $3.49, which isn't much, but you would think this meant the quality of food would improve too but alas! I think the old chef has been replaced with a complete newbie. Either ways, really dissatisfied in having to eat an oily rice with no salt and be sold as a chicken biryani!

I never write reviews, but this place is taking my first for a restaurant. Spice kitchen was a flavorful, spiced, delicious dinner delivery spot for my husband and I. Today we spent nearly $60 on our delivery and the food was just a nightmare. Everything is wrong with the food. It was salty, there was no flavor and just disgusting. I threw out nearly the entire order and called the restaurant to let them know the food is horrible and I asked if they changed chefs or maybe it was a bad cooking day. After reading the recent reviews I found out the owners changed and that explained everything. I’m so sadden I won’t be ordering from here anymore.

Best place to eat, or make online order. Instead of looking for problem, look for good things in life. Just order the food and enjoy. All the time complaining about food it is not good. There is karma God are watching everyone, don't be racist please. Be nice to each other. Thank you. SPICE KITCHEN MASPETH.
