Would I eat here again? of course. Would I rate this a 5, probably not. Honestly, if I could give it a 3.7 I would. The food is ok, don't get me wrong, I'll eat here again now that I know what I'm getting into. Let's talk about it... This is place is called Piñata's Mexican grill. This is automatically setting my expectations for authentic Mexican food, not Tex-Mex. This place doesn't really know which one it is. My problem is that I ordered three tacos with a side of black beans and rice. I went for the steak, chorizo and lengua (tongue, but it sounds gross in English, so let's stick to "lengua"). The steak taco was ok, but the meat had very little flavor. The lack of seasoning was hidden by cilantro and onion with the spicy salsa. Steak at a Mexican restaurant should taste more like carne asada, meat cooked on the fire. The lengua had literally no seasoning, again masked by the extra toppings and salsa. The worse was the chorizo taco, because it was more of a sausage taco. Chorizo is one thing, sausage is another. I almost called it salchichón, which is the Mexican equivalent, but it wasn't, it was just plain sausage. People may say, "people call sausage, chorizo in other parts of Latin America, like Costa Rica." I would say, "true, but not in Mexico". The rice was edible, but it was very plain and chewy. Have you ever warmed up rice in the microwave from the night before, and it feels like you can taste every rice, not in a good way, and it's a bit chewy because it got a little dry in the microwave? There you go. The black beans were very good, the melted cheese was a welcomed surprise, because usually Mexican black beans go with queso fresco or cotija cheese. They went for something different and it works. Finally, the tacos felt like they had so much filling in them, that they fall apart when you eat them. I suppose this is done to justify the price, which was too pricey in my opinion. As I write this, I come into the realization that you may not have Tex-Mex here in Long Island, so you may not get that reference... So I now feel forced to call this bad-Mexican food. I've seen other reviews of people saying great things about the burritos, so I'm going to try one tomorrow... Wish me luck!

Very nice staff, very good food. I'm in this place at least once a week. They have a salsa bar I always go crazy with the free salsa. Plenty of Mexican entrees to try

The Fish Tacos here were delicious. The chips were great addition to the meal and paired great with the tacos. The Al Pastor tacos were also good but not even close to the fish tacos

I am so sorry to give 3star, but the steak was bad. I don't believe it was marinated, seasoned, or fresh. BUT the chicken was bomb! Clearly marinated, great taste, and it was so good on the tacos!!

Dined here for a lunch and had one of their lunch combo specials. Burrito with a side of tortilla chips, your choice of salsas from the salsa bar, and a small beverage. Burrito was very delicious, flavorful, and filling. The salsas were delicious, too. Very fast and efficient service. Staff were friendly too. Restaurant has ample seating and was very clean. Sufficient parking available. Will dine here again to try other dishes.

tried this place during the pandemic and now i'm a frequent customer. i usually get a burrito bowl with chicken and no beans and it's always packed into the bowl. you're definitely getting a decent sized meal when you order here. not to mention their guac is so much better than chipotle's lol

We've ordered Piñatas multiple times through Seamless and it's been shoddy at best. We've had incorrect orders and orders with missing items three times now. We called the business about two of those orders, and they were super nice and told us we'd be refunded for the missing or incorrect orders. Neither time did we actually receive a refund. Their food is good, no doubt about it. But we simply cannot endorse a business who gets orders wrong, and then doesn't do the right thing especially when they tell us otherwise. It's really disappointing.

Piñata's makes some of the best Mexican food on Long Island! Everything I've tried here is full of flavor, especially the nachos (with everything on them), chicken quesadilla, chicken taquitos, and tacos of any kind. The food is fresh and the portions are big for the prices. Most times when ordering here, I have enough food for two meals! There's a variety of dishes on the menu -- including vegetarian -- so there's something for everyone here.
