All American Hamburger Drive In

Love this place, it's a Massapequa staple.

I finally tried their cheeseburger after coworkers raved about it. But I found it meh. Nothing special. Very tiny burger approaching white castle size and not worth the money. Too bad they don't use beef tallow or lard to fry their fries that is healthy and natural. They followed the lies of the 1990's just like mcDonald's and the rest and use man made chemically created toxic vegetable/seed oils that cause cardiovascular diseases, inflammation, obesity and cancers. The free radicals from the double carbon bonds cause rapid oxidation and hence the rancid taste. Very very bad for health. Then people wonder why their fries are oil soaked. That is what fake oils do, they soak into foods. They also wonder why they are so obese. Vegetable oils shutdown the metabolism at the cellular level with the mitochondria.

"I've been to this place several times and used to go out of my way to visit because the burgers and overall experience were fantastic. They had a great system for handling long lines, so even if the line wrapped inside the building, it moved quickly. However, on my recent visit, the line wasn’t as long but still stretched out the door, and there was an loud whistling noise every time the door opens and closed . Unfortunately, the burger didn’t taste quite the same. It seems there’s a new owner now, and based on this visit, I’m not sure if I’ll be making the extra trip anymore."

I don't understand the hype of this place. I remember loving it when I was a kid. While I was a pregnant vegetarian (now I eat meat again) I went with my ex-husband in 2016 and I didn't like it much. I just recently tried it again with my family and I thought okay I will try the burger maybe I'll like it better. Still not overly impressed. The burger was okay, it wasn't terrible, but it was nothing to write home about. I've had way better burgers from BBQs. So I wouldn't object to going here but it definitely would not be my number one choice.
