Huge Portions, Friendly Service, Roomy Atmosphere and a Very Extensive Menu. Surprisingly delicious marinara sauce! The grilled chicken I added to my Greek Salad was on point!!! It was perfectly seasoned and cooked. I will go back to try more dishes.

If I could give it no stars, I would! Food was ok, but the waitress, OMG! What an an attitude! Was not friendly, never asked us if our food was ok, never came over the fill the coffee cups. She was a complete ZERO! What pissed my husband the most? She threw the check on the table! He said that's it, she isn't getting a tip! Never left a food establishment and not leave a tip, but this woman deserved nothing! She spent most of the time chatting in the kitchen, The reason we know this is because we saw her! Avoid this place! Go to Mickey D's or Burger King!

Stopped in this Diner, overall food was pretty good, I would say average diner food but nothing to write home about.

I come here now every morning for coffee and the staff is just wonderful. The coffee is delicious. The mugs are adorable! I will continue coming every morning I work:)

Their breakfast is always on point. A friendly, inviting atmosphere always leaves the diner feeling like a welcome friend. They've got a food selection of food for any diner, whether it be pancakes, waffles, eggs or anything else you want. You'll leave happy at the end of the day, with some wonderful food in your belly and a nice hot cup of tea or coffee whichever your poison may be.

We used to love this diner and went about once a month. Tonight we went back for the first time since the pandemic started. My first impression was how dirty it was. The place was pretty empty yet at least 7 tables needed to be cleaned. There was food on the floors, ketchup splattered on the side of the booth, windows filthy, fingerprints all over the doors, booths, etc. It had a completely different feel now. Gross. Food was still decent but definitely not as good as in the past. Our waitress was very nice as was the hostess. Overall, it was just okay. I don't know what happened.

Have not been in the East Bay in a long time and last night's dinner was excellent. All four of us were extremely happy. We shared two dinners between us which included soups, salads and entrees with side dishes. The food was so fresh and tasty. Pricing was so reasonable and service provided by Sally was excellent. Great to be back at the East Bay Diner. P.S dessert was also included

I ordered a bacon omlette (with well-done bacon), tomato instead of potato, rye toast (requested that the kitchen butter it for me), and a decaf coffee. The bacon wasn't well-done, the omeltte was over-cooked, the kitchen didn't butter my toast, and the coffee was so dark that you needed two of the plastic half-and-half cups to get it to change color from black to dark brown. The left half of the diner (where we sat) had window booths with a view of the parking lot and overhead, pastel colored, hanging table lamps that reminded us of what we saw at the Murano factory in Venice, but looked like an octopus (consistent with the seaside theme). A lady in the next booth thought the table lamps looked tacky. FYI - When you pay at the register after the meal (typical for local diners), their policy is that tips must be cash only, so they wouldn't add it to our credit card payment of the bill). We had been here for dinner with friends a few times in years past and recall their fish was a good choice. Although their prices on fish dishes were reasonable compared to restaurants, we'd rather spend the difference to get the upgrade.

We were the first couple of our party of 6 to arrive. The table was set so sloppily as we sat there, that I got up & straightened things out. Then the food was served , six forks were placed in a heap. The waiter never came back to see if everything was OK or if we needed anything. The food was not good, except for salad & dessert. Huge portions, but if the food isn't good, so what? I get better food & service in my own kitchen.

We've gone here at least once a month for many years. However, we will never go there again. Today, our coffee cups were dirty and there was dried ketchup all over the salt and pepper shakers. but worst of all was the owner. He's always grumpy, but today while we were paying, for some reason this guy went off on a wild political rant. In addition to being uncalled for and unprovoked, it was also borderline crazy. We were just trying to pay and get the heck out of there, but the guy didn't want to stop. We're finished with this place. The food isn't good anyway.

It was a great night and a lovely dinner! The place looked beautiful and the food was mouth-watering. I tried the salmon which I usually don't enjoy, but it was the best I've ever had! The service was quick and I will definitely go again.

East bay has its super creative lit up aqua blue wave outside catching your eye. Aquatic themed inside to match. Unlike so many sleepy diners that have gone by the wayside, this is one of a handful of LI diners super active and popular with locals. I almost walked out when a surly waiter was abrupt and I misheard him... when asked for a wine menu for a glass of wine... I thought he grumpily said they didn't have wine.... and after the crazy workers I dealt with that day, it was a C'ya moment ... hahah .. as I nearly headed out.. But I got the chance to meet an owner, a sweet super pretty woman who clarified they did have wine.... and insisted on giving me a nice table, new waiter and comped us a few glasses... Not one to take anything in these times from small biz, I tipped the extra wine cost to the friendly tall mature waiter... Since the customer rescue incident... I've been back a few more times, because I genuinely liked the place, food and people, except for that one weird little waiter.. LOL lol Highly recommend.. seriously hospitable, busy yet friendly diner.

Just had a wonderful meal at our favorite restaurant. Our waiter was Alfredo and we were greeted by owner Dennis who is always available and sees that his customers are happy. Tonight we had the Prime Rib which was perfect and I had the Chilean sea fish which was also perfect t. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

If I could give it 0 stars I would. Workers with no mask and picking there teeth not even washing hands. Hair in food. Manager basically told me I don't like then get out he doesn't need my business.

Tonight, went to my parents and decided to get take out from the diner. We ordered 3 dinners, the rice, mashed potatoes, and creamed spinach which came with the dinners was not included in the box they handed us. We called them up as I was taking the items out if the box to set the table and we said we would be by pick up our missing items. Well, my husband went back into the diner and the man inside yelled at him that he was a liar. This man embarrassed my husband and ny husband just said ok, you are right. We will NEVER go back to this dinner. We had to go out of our way to pick up the missing items. When I pay for something, I expect to receive what I am paying for. My husband and I get take out from our neighborhood 2-3 times per week, especially since the beginning of covid. Sometimes they mess up and are always happy to fix the issue. Plus we never complain if it is only 1 item, this was 3 items and all the sides (plus 1 extra) for 1 meal. Rude! Unprofessional. Greedy.
