I have been going to Nautilus for many, many years and it's been good until recently. I know ownership changed in the past 10 years or so but unfortunately, food and service have consistently gotten worse.
I truly enjoyed this diner but likely will not be back anytime soon. Most recent experience last night, my wife and I had only coffee and dessert yet they managed to ruin that also - a cheesecake should not have a garlic notes. I thought I must have been wrong but my wife confirmed the garlic flavor. Another dessert that same occasion, an almond horn, was so overly sweet it would take a normal person 5 days to eat or, get instant diabetes. Adding insult to injury, ALL their desserts were so old and unappealing even to look at. Makes me wonder what goes on in the kitchen behind closed doors...
I wish I could say better about my previously loved local diner but, times change and so has Nautilus.

This is a great diner still here from when I was a kid growing up in Massapequa. It hasn't changed in the 40 years since I was last here as a teen. The food and service are as good as they were back in the 80's.

We live in an area loaded with food options, and have tried other diners This place has emerged as our go to informal but good dining option I had a turkey avocado blt wrap Mexican chicken in a giant taco bowl They give such big portions that we had our dinners as next days lunch A nice touch was the waiter remembered my wife from our last visit so all the little Tweaks going into the meal he already knew

Food was great but the service was l lacking. Didn't see our waiter after he brought our food. Had to track him down just to get the check. Never checked to see if everything was good or if we needed anything more. Not a typical experience but felt I had to mention it since it was so frustrating.

This place is awesome. Never had a bad meal. Owners are incredibly nice and service is excellent. I like ordering the challah French toast, corned beef hash, chocolate chip banana pancakes, milkshakes, omelettes and souvlaki. Do yourself a favor and go
