They really have a problem with communication. I’ve been there several times I drove there only to find out that they are closed. It’s a hell of a drive to get there. They don’t post the hours. They don’t answer their phones. They don’t tell you when the season ends all this is easily fixed if they update their website or Facebook page

Disappointing Experience

I really didn’t enjoy this place. It’s overpriced, and the quality is very poor.

The staff are friendly, but in a way that feels disconnected from the food they’re serving — which is far from good. Drinks come straight from cans or machines, so calling them “cocktails” is misleading. There isn’t even a proper bartender.

The food menu looks normal at first glance, but the reality is disappointing: plastic-like vegetables, fries fried in very old oil, cold pasta, and tuna served on overly sweet, sticky rice.

For what you pay, it simply doesn’t make sense. In a world full of restaurants that offer honest, comforting food, this feels like a complete letdown.

I have to give this a slam dunk . The Lobster Roll was wonderful and I thought I would try the steak . it was a very nice steak and I enjoyed every bite . we also had the coconut shrimp and that was was also very good . I thought perhaps it was a little pricy as the bill for two came out to 175.00 plus tip but drinks are expensive 18.00 x 2 for the pain killer and 12 x 2 for a glass of wine but for 100.00 a person I would go back , The Hostess was very Kind , Great server , Nice view of the bay and the food was good . looking forward to returning

Ordered Lobster Rolls - one hot - one cold $39.00 each!!! I asked the waitress if they were hearty ( meaning at that price , lot's of lobster) NOT THE CASE! skimpy sandwich and to add insult to injury...cold french fries. Setting - very nice! But if I come back, I will not get the lobster rolls.

The managers that work here should be brought up on charges for putting a child in danger during an unexpected flash storm.

We decided to eat here after a weekday splash park day. We have never eaten at TOBAY so we decided to stop at the Surf Shack. It was a Tuesday afternoon and it was not too crowded. There was no actual hostess during the day so everyone who was awaiting to sit was a bit confused if we could self seat or wait. A waiter would come by and say someone would be with us and we were eventually seated.

The prices were expected for a beachside restaurant. We were informed of the taco specials for Tuesday and got one of each - shrimp, pulled pork, fish. Each platter included 3 tacos and they were decent size.

The food was pretty average for the price. The staff seemed very overwhelmed and it was a bit disorganized so I wouldn't probably dine here when it's busy. We dined with our 1 year old and they had high chairs and kids menus as well. She just ate off our tacos and enjoyed them as well.

The ambiance was nice. It seems like there are live music nights as well so definitely check the schedule. There is bar seating as well.

Came here and got turned away because you Need to be a Tobay beach resident to enter . When I searched it up found out you need to be a resident before 5pm weekday and 6pm weekends and found it weird she didn’t share that, but w.e just an fyi for people who haven’t been . And parking looked like $20
