This place! Love, love, love…atmosphere, great drinks and amazing food! We were greeted by a beautiful bartender who paid us prompt attention. We had drinks at the bar and then led to a cozy booth off the bar. We had the most tasty meal! Shrimp, scallops and steak! Cooked perfectly! This is a local owner and we couldn’t be happier with our meal and service! Highly recommended! As far as previous unfavorable reviews, anyone can have an off night…remember, let’s be kind!

This is one of the BEST places Massena has right now. The food is amazing, the drinks are top notch, but by far, my favorite aspect has to be the service and the staff. The bartender is quick to greet you with a beautiful smile and makes great drinks. She is conversational and polite when sitting at the bar and the servers show the same hospitality and kindness when sitting in the dining areas. Love this place so much and will continue to bring friends and family to this spot!

This is our new favorite spot! We love the atmosphere and the attention we received as soon as we walked through the door. The food was hot and seasoned perfectly. I recommend On The Rocks without hesitation.

I have never posted a negative review for a business and certainly don’t do so lightly, but feel in this case it’s important to share.I visited this place with my husband and 5 of our friends and family members on Friday. We arrived at 8:30pm and learned the kitchen would soon be closing so ordered a few appetizers from what looked like a very delicious menu and a round of drinks.Right from the start I felt unwelcome and like our presence there was unwanted. My friend asked the bartender if she had Corona Light and the bartender responded with a clipped “no” with no further explanation about alternative options or what the bar specialized in. No server approached us about getting a table and because it seemed like we were annoying the bartender, we took our drinks out to the patio area.The patio setup is very nice - they have groups of chairs gathered around propane fire pits. To me it seemed like this area was meant to be more of a casual outside bar area and not an outdoor dining area but I could be wrong. Either way, there were no other patrons out on the patio.We sat around one of the fire pits and ordered 2-3 rounds of drinks. At no point did any staff ever come out and ask if we needed anything or give us an update on the appetizers we ordered. We went inside to the bar each time to order more drinks and then carried them out ourselves - not a big deal at all but just to give context to the situation.A little after 9pm we decided to order a couple pizzas from a pizzeria across the street which I honestly at the time didn’t think twice about. We had already put in an order for food and had paid for 20+ drinks at this point, their kitchen was closed, they didn’t have pizza on the menu and with the way we were being left alone out on the patio I didn’t think the staff would even notice.A member of our group picked up the pizzas around 9:45 and brought them back over. Not 2 minutes later the bartender came out (for the first time that evening) and absolutely berated us for having the pizza on the patio. She said “I know the food is taking a little while but..” (never apologized), called our actions “disrespectful” and said that we were lucky she had come out and not her father because he would not have been “nearly as kind”.We all sat through this rant in stunned silence and only had time to mutter “sorry” before she stormed back inside. I felt like a toddler who had just been chastised for something I didn’t know I had done wrong.The group of us were together that evening because we had buried my husband’s father earlier that day. It had been an emotionally taxing day but we, up until that point, were having a great time catching up and swapping memories of him. All of that came to a screeching halt when the bartender came out.At that point we were all so uncomfortable with what had just transpired that we felt it best to leave. Even though we still hadn’t received the appetizers, I went inside to pay for the food. When I walked in it was abundantly clear that that the bartender and staff had shared the situation and their feelings about our group with all of the patrons at the bar - talk about “disrespectful.” By now I was so upset that I asked to pay for the food using stronger language than I probably should have, though I’m sure my father-in-law would have approved.Should we have brought outside food to the patio? Probably not. Could the bartender have handled the situation better? Absolutely. Was this a one-off incident? I certainly hope so. They seem to have a loyal local following and I’m sure had we ever received our food it would have been great, but the bartender berating us was just an explosive culmination of a series of micro-aggressions that made it seem like because we weren’t local, we weren’t welcome, and I would hate for someone not familiar with the area or just passing through to have the same experience when there are several other great bars and restaurants nearby.
Disappointed by the customer service received during a recent visit. The staff seemed disinterested and did not offer a welcoming environment. I would strongly advise seeking alternative dining options in the area.
