$4.08 for a toasted plain bagel with butter. Really?
I’m honestly torn writing this review because the food at Goldberg’s Bagels in Jamesport was genuinely great. The bagels were fresh, flavorful, and exactly what I was hoping for. If I were rating this place on food alone, it would easily be 4 or 5 stars.
Unfortunately, the customer service was so bad that it completely ruined my experience. After placing my order, the staff began helping other customers without finishing mine. I stood there waiting, unsure of what was going on, and when I politely asked about the rest of my order, I was met with unnecessary attitude. One of the workers actually snapped at me, saying, “You will get your order all at once when I’m done!”—not as an explanation, but as if I was bothering her for asking.
I wasn’t rushing anyone—I just wanted to know if my order was still being prepared. Instead of simply communicating, I was treated with disrespect and frustration. It was rude, uncalled for, and honestly set a terrible tone for the rest of my morning.
Despite the good food, I will not be returning. There are many other bagel places where you can get great bagels and be treated with basic courtesy. Disappointing.

This place used to be our favorite place especially with a Sunday tradition and being recognized, being friendly with old owners etc. … The last few years you get dirty looks by half the staff behind the counter.. they look annoyed to serve you. Abruptly throw stuff in bag . I cannot count how many times my order has been wrong the last 2 years. The last straw was when simply ordering an egg bagel lightly toasted w/butter first goes from everything bagel with cream cheese to egg bagel with cream cheese and finally 3rd try get a measly egg bagel with butter correct. With an attitude/dirty look on a timed lunch hour. A mix of language barrier and sheer not caring is not a good look for business. I strongly believe if wasn’t reputation of previous owner this business would not exist . And way over priced for a not so great bagel.

The service in this place is really bad, you have to repeat the other to the cashier 4 times and at the final you get cold bagel. When I ask to pls toasted and add butter they charged me $2 extra and also they will blame you bc you didn’t ask to toasted,in front of the other customers . At the final I got a burnt french toasted bagel and no cheese in my egg and cheese … Update try to talk with the manager Cristopher, he was the one who overcharged 2 dollars, (you can check the menu $3.25 Bagel with butter). His answer was …do whatever you want. Now I understand why all employees look so miserable working there.

We've been patrons of Goldberg's since it's opening. Recently, however, every time I come in to order a pork roll, egg, and cheese, there is a sense of confusion on what pork roll is. Invariably, someone on staff walks up and says, 'oh, Taylor Ham', ok, fine, and the staff taking the order says 'oh, ham'. I then see the staff write 'HEC' on the pad, and all is right with the world - the order is correct, and delicious, as usual.
Then, as happened today, whenever I say 'ham, egg, and cheese', I get deli ham, even when I clarify pork roll/Taylor Ham, which is a different order from what I want. I suppose the staff prefers the confusion of me saying pork roll for the couple of minutes of clarification, rather than me clarifying right off the bat.
I know this is knit-picky, but there's a reason there's specific names to things. How should I refer to pork roll/Taylor Ham? Jersey boy with LI roots, hope we can work something out.
