Matt's nice and I supported him from the start but I'm sorry you need to serve better food at Mattitaco itself, the staff is nice, catered events sound nice but last 4 times I went just disappointed with the food quality, everything looks thrown into the containers, falling apart, lacking flavor, sauces they used to have are gone, the apps are OK, but it doesn't make up for the lack of flavor and presentation in everything else, ordered vegan taco and got random peices of meat mixed in it lol this is not the first time I got what looked like just random foods thrown together like left overs sitting around and they decided to mix it in, very odd, nothing like the pictures either. I'm a huge foodie and enjoy cooking myself, so for me to write this review its not spiteful , I just have no idea how this is good food even for a light lunch or snack there should be some level of you know you will get what's listed, it will have the food in it advertised and shown. A little tweaking is understandable but not when it tastes and looks like someone's leftovers.

We went to the Wolffer Estate Wine Shop for live music and the Mattitaco truck. We did not get to experience much wine or live music because it took Mattitaco 90 minutes to work through a 20-person line. Finally, when we got to the front of the line and got our food, my wife and I found the tacos to be ok, not worth a 90-minute wait.That evening, both of us experienced the symptoms of food poisoning either from our Bang Bang Shrimp, Carne Asada, or Lobster tacos.I shared this experience and requested a refund from the owner Justin via Venmo and Instagram DM and he ignored me. Posting this review is a last resort as I respect small businesses that are trying to grow, but when you ignore a case of food poisoning that your food caused, then I must share.

The one star has very little to do with the service. Tacos had enough protein however the flavor was so underwhelming to the point I literally felt I overpaid and my bill was only $15.00. My "blackened" shrimp were opaque with not one drop of seasoning. The Old Bay seasoning on the fish which anyone who uses OB knows its very distinctive and this had zilch just darkly fried and bland. Like literally water has more flavor. Whenever you give descriptions on the menu of what an item is seasoned with especially bold flavor or cooking technique it should never completely miss the mark. And the dilapidated decor outside could use a sprucing up as well. Highly disappointed as I rarely leave negative reviews unless things completely miss mark. This one did.

The menu had many unique options and their beverages were just as distinctive with many local options. However for the price, the food was okay. It was tasty but food seemed to be cooked in a rush, with the meat being cut into big chunks and have many pieces of fat.

I eaten here about 2 weeks ago and it was my second time having it. I kept forgetting to post about it. The food is GREAT. Food is cooked fresh. Awesome seating area and bar tops to eat for lunch. Place is First Responder friendly and will definitely be my lunch spot when I’m in the mood for tacos on the North Fork.

Had a wonderful lunch here with my daughters on a visit from Ct for my daughters wedding. We enjoyed wonderful margharitas, guacamole and tacos !! We all had a wonderful time!! Very attentive to our needs, impeccable service!! I highly recommend it and look forward to visiting again next time I'm in the area. Many thanks to the staff for a wonderful memory !!

DO NOT CONTRACT ANY EVENT WITH THIS BUSINSS. The owner Justin broke a wedding contract and failed to provide the contracted food to the venue. Instead, this was the day they had their own party in Mattituck. The wedding party and all the guests can all attest to this happening. The special day turned into a tearful, stressful day for the bride and groom. The venue tried to make food available but it was not enough. Justin finally agreed to pay the bride and groom part of the money but never did. He also made them sign a "GAG Order". This is not the first complaint I have heard about not fulfilling a contract and providing what was agreed on.

Stopped at Mattitaco yesterday after looking for Christmas trees out East, and walked into an unsuspecting surprise. Five hungry, foodie adults who walked away satisfied. The variety of taco's and burritos was extensive, all cooked to perfection, served with a smile, and quite honestly, good. Hey, its a taco stand, thus our expectations were in check. Still, the place is charming, clean, and they have their act together. The restaurant was crowded for a Saturday afternoon and no one seemed to be waiting to be served. Finally, enjoyed the conversations with energetic, and delightful Ed. He just added to the fun....looking forward to going back.

Amazing! Bang bang shrimp delicious. Steak taco fantastic. Way better than Lucharitos! GO! I will be back many times…cute inside. Nice atmosphere. Clean & managers and staff are super nice.

What an awesome surprise. We were celebrating a friend's birthday and stopped in after seeing the restaurant we were going to was not what we expected. I am so glad we did. Everything was great. The pitcher of margaritas, delicious. So were the dirty fries and tacos. I loved the pork belly one. I wish I lived closer. Oh, and the music was the best. There may have been a small disco party at the end.
